Good summer bag but that is about it. I started with a 40 degree Lafuma that when it showed up it was paper thin and was literally a good tropical bag, possibly. The stuff size was about the size of a football or smaller. So I returned for this bag and though 35 degrees on this bag would actually be tolerable. Wrong. I've had it about two years now, frankly, great summer bag but that is about it. Any time I have taken it out in mildly questionable spring weather I have full-on frozen my nuts off. I'm not someone who is normally "cold" or anything of the sort.

We already owned a pair of Lafuma WnL 600s when we picked up a pair of Lafuma WnL 1000s to extend the usefulness of our gear to three seasons. Our new WnL 1000s kept us warm just fine in late October on Bear Mountain in NY. They zipped together nicely and we used them with Therm-a-Rest sleeping pads in an MSR tent with the rainfly on. In other words, these work as advertised if you use them with a bunch of other gear (which campers usually do, right?). For sub-zero temperatures we would consider nesting the WnL 600s inside the WnL 1000s. For minimal size and heft, our Lafuma sleeping bags deliver acceptable performance at moderate cost... 4.5 stars overall.

Tested this sleeping bag out in the Alaska Basin area of the Tetons. Woke up with ice in the water bottles but these sleeping bags (I bought two of them) kept us plenty warm.

As far as feathers coming out--I didn't notice this any more than with comparable down bags. The feathers are so fine that some will come out no matter what--anyway, that's my opinion.

The only problem I had with these bags is that they don't zip together. This bag, unlike many other down bags, comes in both a right and left zipper configuration; however, the zippers are not configured so that they will zip together--at least not on my two bags. This is a minor issue, and not an issue at all for most, but since I bought the bags specifically for this feature, the fact that they won't zip together is a drawback.

This is my first down sleeping bag and I was excited to try it out. First upon receiving it, I noticed some feathers coming out of the seams. I tried it out when I was car camping and the night temp fell to around the 40s and I found myself curled up into a ball trying to stay warm. I was in a tent without the rainfly and the winds didn't help, but being a 20deg bag, I shouldn't have a problem of staying warm. Plus, the zipper can be stubborn at times. Unfortunatly now I'm going have to send it back.
