For busy days at the office or a crazy schedule of cross-campus classes, fill up the Klean Kanteen 27oz Water Bottle before you head out for all-day hydration in a recyclable, BPA-free package. This lightweight bottle features a food-grade stainless steel construction that doesn’t require a synthetic lining like some other steel bottles. The large opening makes it easy to put in ice cubes or clean it out.
Bottom Line: Get the water without the BPA in this bottle.
Very easy to clean, sink or dishwasher. Like the wide opening (easy for adding ice or powders) and the sport top with cover is great. Light in weight yet durable. Bought several and everyone likes them. No metal taste in our experience with them.
I just got into using a stainless water bottle. I got this one for a motorcycle trip. I slid it down inbetween gear in my saddlebags on my bike. It does its intended job and water tastes great out of it.
The 27oz. fits in a cupholder, and is great to take to work. The screw top works smoothly and securely. Easy to clean. I actually prefer the Klean Kanteen wide mouth now, since the lid covers the drinking area. With this one, if you drop it in the dirt you'll have to wipe it off or the outside part of the top will have dirt on it.
cool bottle, black adds a nice touch, the lid locks down tight and seals in the water but makes an annoying squeaking noise everytime you screw it down. since the cap goes down into the bottle, water will come out of you have the bottle filled up too much. theres no insulating value what so ever, they reccomend not putting hot liquids in it and i know why, the firt time i filled it with cold water; the whole bottle turned freezing cold to the the touch in an instant, so i dont even want to think of the burns id get from hot water...overall a nice bottle
Actually it's not insulation properties recude the weight in a stainless canteen.... and if you were savy in the woods... You'd realize You can boil water in them (just tie some line to the Rim of the bottle) then the cap can be put on... it WONT melt nore will the O-Ring... you then hang them in the stream you just got your water from, and in a matter of a few minutes the entire canteen and the previously boiled water are as cold as the steam... Pack up your gear and keep hiking...
I really like this bottle for mixing endurance powders. It's easier to clean than plastic bottles. The sport cap makes it easy to drink from on a bike.
An Amazing Kanteen... I own 3... If you are going hardcore lightweight... you can bring just this.... holds about a quart and if done properly at the right height you can boil the water in this Since it's stainless steel. Perc/Canteen in One for those hard core guys. For everyone else.... It's about the same weight as a USGI plastic one quart.... just WAY cleaner. I've left Tea and mixed powder beverage in them in my trunk for very long.... opened them and they stunk... Put some water in them shook them up dumped them out a few times and NO ODOR... No SOAP... it's that clean of stainless on the inside (True 18/8 Stainless meant for Cleanliness)... NOTHING STICKS TO THEM... BEST CANTEENS EVER!
I can't find lids in Backcountry's inventory, but you can order them directly from Klean.http://www.kleankanteen.com/2products/klean-kanteen-accessories.html
Love the bottle! -fits in cup holders -holds a good amount of water -lid is water tight -very sturdy bottle -does not stain water or liquids with bad taste *****
I just got this to replace my aging Nalgenes. First of all, I can put tea/coffee in it and not have a horrible plastic aftertaste. Also, I have been known to take red wine or other boozy beverages with me (for fun) and this bottle is FAR superior to plastic! No staining or lingering winey taste. I haven't tried the other non-plastic bottles on the market, but I chose this because I felt more comfortable with stainless steel over lined aluminum. All in all, I am very pleased and would buy again!
This is a great bottle. Nice, clean design. No metal taste. Solid closing lid. Nice big mouth to fit ice cubes. Only draw back, which could just be a personal problem, the nice wide opening creates an interesting dilemma when trying to get a quick drink (a problem I had with the old Nalgene bottles I used forever). I have seen the SIGG bottles with a smaller opening and thought that would be nice, but I guess I like adding ice more than drinking quickly. Hope this helps.
great investment. buy one. you can boil water right in it (don't forget your gloves) and the bigger one is great for cooking rice, noodles...whatever. got it home and steel wool took the char from the fire right off. highly recommended, high quality stainless.
The new colors on the Kleen Kanteen are awesome. I got the brown one and it's sick, looks great with a white sticker on it. It washes easily, isn't toxic and keeps my water chilled in the hot yoga classroom which is a huge advantage. If you come and go from different atmospheric pressure, the lid can be hard to open, I commute to a high mountain location and come down to a lower mountain spot often so when I get down I have use some muscle to open the bottle back up. Awesome bottle, definitely recommend getting one of these. Do not drop them though, they will dent.
Had a nalgene for years, and finally decided to make the switch. It is so nice to have a singular taste come out of this! I was always struggling to get the taste of the last beverage out of my nalgene. With this it is easy as pie! I got the sport cap and I think I almost rather like just unscrewing the lid to drink out of it. Very happy with it, as well are the others who I got some for!
now that i'm paranoid about the carcinogenic junk in all the plastic water bottles i've used over the years, it was time to try out something steel. you can slightly taste the metal from the klean kanteen, and it conducts heat ridiculously well, but other than that it does the job. also, the taste of other beverages placed in the canteen washes right out, which is nice.
I recently bought 4 of the new models in Black Eclipse and Green Moss. They have fixed the issues with the lids by making them one solid piece for tons more strength. They also stopped using those lousy stickers that you can never get the goo off from. The bottles look and function great. No bad taste whatsoever, and they seem very durable. 5 of 5 on this one.
