Kelty Stratus Sleeping Bag: 35 Degree Quallofil - 2006

If you, like the TV weather personality, aren't great at predicting the weather, the Kelty Stratus is a good choice of bag. If it doesn't get too hot where you're going, but doesn't get too cold either, the Stratus has you covered. And if the trip turns soggy, the Stratus will handle moisture like few down bags can. A zippered foot vent allows your dogs to cool off if the night is sultry. A zippered draft tube and ground-level side seams keep cold out if the night is less than sultry. Among the Stratus's other cool features are a sleeping pad security loop and dual drawcords, both of which double your sleeping pleasure. You can also hook a Kelty liner into this bag very easily, widening the bag's temperature range.

Bottom Line: Like a climate control system for your body, the Stratus will adjust to a wide range of nocturnal conditions.

lightweight, packs very small, good bag

This bag is very lightweight and comfortable. I wanted this 35 degree bag because many summer nights I get too warm when I am camping and wanted something lighter and breathable. So far it has been perfect! Wouldn't tackle anything much colder than 35 degrees, but I highly recommend this for spring/summer/fall camps if you are looking for lightweight durability.

This bag is extremely light and packs down to a very small size. Keeps you warm, but keep in mind that you're getting what your paying for. I wouldn't recommend using in temperatures much lower than 35 degrees. Overall nice bag for a reasonable price.

An excellent choice for a sleeping bag!...

By:
September 22, 2004

This sleeping bag is incredibly comfortable and it kept me toasty during a very cold night. In addition, the bag is light-weight and rolls up into a compact storage sack for easy portability. All in all, this was a great buy and I'd recommend it to any of my friends...

My opinion on the Stratus bag

By:
October 9, 2006

Had to get a couple bags at the last minute for an overnight hike. I was overall very happy with the bags, although now I realize it would've been nice to have a pillow compartment. The bags stuffed down to size nicely AND easily, were warm enough and big enough, although I'm personally not used to the slippery fabric. Good quality for the price.

Great light weight, but it ripped in feet area

By:
September 11, 2006

I have enjoyed this bag until I washed it and the bottom on the inside of the bag ripped along the seam. I have enjoyed how light weight and small it packs. I got a little cold on windy nights of temps around 30 - 40 degrees. The ripping along the seam in the feet area is my main complaint. Thank you.

Great nights sleep

By:

First of all, great customer service, keep up the good work. The Stratus packs well, and sleeps well. I ordered the "long", and at 6'5" it fits me well. For a 35F bag it gets the job done.
