Pack the whole family up and head to the mountains. With the Kelty Pavilion 6-Person 3-Season Tent's awesome ventilation and screened vestibule, the whole family can get a good night's sleep. Don't let the weather ruin your family trip. Easy to set up in varying conditions and sturdy against intense heat or rain, the kids will stay dry and parents will stay happy. The Kelty Pavilion is spacious and reliable, just what you need to make your family vacation a success.
Bottom Line: Sleep easy! Family-camping has never had such a reliable tent.
This tent replaced a leaky Coleman tent. We bought the tent instead of a pop-up camper. Easy to set up with two people. No problems in our first rain storm. Only bad: foot print is always out of stock.
This tent is a monster! For a base camp or car camping tent this thing is great. It is easy to set up, especially if you have at least a portion of the people who could fit in this thing helping to set it up. You could probably host the World Series of Poker inside the PAV 6. We fit two queen size air mattress' inside the tent without any problem and could probably have 4 or 5 in there without touching the sides. My friend is about 6'7" or so and he can stand inside without ducking at all. Overall, heavy as... but more room than your bedroom at home
What kind of winds or coldness will this work in? It says 3 season, but with pavilion I was wondering if it kept out much cold with shades covering all the front screening. I don't want 50 mph winds catching it and fipping it away while we are away from camp.
Well Dan, Any wind is tough in a tent, but as long as you stake this puppy it ain't movin' looks like over 10 stakes? With all your bags inside that is good weight. Cold- tent's are just to keep you dry-not so much the cold. Your bag is what is you need. Bag rated for cold temps- your good to go. From the reviews this thing is like a bus.
How does the front fly area close over the vestibule? Zipper, Velcro, or just roll down? Is the vestibule area rain resistant/proof? I'm talking about the inside of the vestible. Where the shades roll down.
The rain fly is just one piece that pulls over the whole tent, with the extra forming the vestibule, so it doesn't attach by zipper or anything, just the ground all around the tent. It is just as waterproof as the rest of the tent, so... waterproof!
This Tent is HUGE! When me and my friends pulled it out of the stuff sack we were in amazement. It was SUPER simple to set up, only 4 poles total and it went up so fast. Just make sure you lay the poles next to each other so you can find the pole lengths and put the right pole in the right spots the first time. The screen room is huge also and you could throw all your gear there if you needed extra room. We fit 7 people in the tent, with room to spare! It is defiantly a 3 season tent and is not the best for winter camping, but seriously, This thing it like a movable living room! It is HUGE! I am 5'8" and me jumping up inside I still could barely touch the top with my head.
The tent itself is nice. Once the fly is added, there is no ventilation. Thought I was going to suffocate when the sun came out. I had to peel off the fly. I wouldn't buy one.
What a mansion! You can leave off the outer cover and sleep under the stars, or with the outer cover, you have a covered porch as well. Very Nice Tent!
