it would be warm enough, but if you are worried about weight at all there are lighter bags available from The North Face and Mountain Hardware.

This is warm bag. If you want a little more versitility (and warmth), buy a liner bag (http://www.backcountry.com/store/KEL0422/Kelty-Lightweight-Fleece-Sleeping-Bag-Liner.html) to go with it. It will add about 10 degrees of more warmth and will double as a travel sheet when you're in the warmer temps at lower elevation in Africa.
