Kelty Chinook Sleeping Bag: 20 Degree Quallofill - 2006

The Kelty Chinook 20F Sleeping Bag is one of the best kick-around sleeping bags you'll find. It has a broad comfort range so you'll be able to use it from spring to fall and even in the winter in mild conditions. It uses Quallofil insulation which maintains its insulating properties even when it's wet making it great for canoe camping too. While it's not the lightest bag on the market it offers a broad range of use and a low enough price that you won't have to worry about ruining your super chi-chi expensive down bag.

Bottom Line: A warm sleeping bag at a low price.

great value

I took this on a winter backpacking trip and the night low was 10 degrees fahreheit and I was still warm (with layers of clothing). Also great for basecamp, cabins, canoeing, or simply anywhere where you need something to keep you warm. The best bag for under $100.

great bag

I took this bag out to WVA at the Songer whitewater camping site. It got to about 40 degrees (and colder) in the evening and I was dry, warm and comfortable. I was sleeping on top of an air mattress. It was a little long, but I am 5'2" so there's not much that can be done about that. I love how the bag zipped right up to below my chin.

Well, it packs small enough for me because I use a large Kelty Red Cloud 5000, but if you have a smaller pack, I would suggest buying a compression sack.

Great Bag!

This bag is amazing for the price. It's well designed and packs decently small. It will keep you warm when you need it, and it's not too warm to be usable during summer hikes. Great bag overall!

Shackn' up with Chinook

Great bag! I received this bag as a gift and it has been great so far. I've slept out in the low 20's with just this bag and no tent or blanket! The anti-draft collar is great and the cloth-lined hood does an amazing job. I'm 5' 10" about 150lbs and it's a roomy bag for me. It's good looking to boot!
