Kayland MXT Boot - Women's
If your mountaineering boot feels like a clompy brick while you trek over snow, ice, scree, and mud, consider the Kayland Women’s MXT Boot. This boot’s last uses an enhanced rocker design that actually promotes natural forward motion with each step. While your legs delight in the reduced strain, the MXT Boot’s eVent membrane works hard to block moisture and allow excess heat to escape. Ergonomically shaped internal padding prevents heel slip on long summit days.
Bottom Line: Rock on.

So I love these mountaineering boots! Having worn them on their first true challenge today, in the German Alps, they performed swimmingly. I was looking for a pair of boots with decent stiffness and crampon compatibility (I am using the Black Diamond Serac Pro, which they fit fine). I also wanted to used these boots on mixed terrain (aka, heavy hiking, not quite Everest level...). They met my expectations, and then some. They were stiff, but not too stiff on some seriously tough terrain and handled well in wet and muddy conditions. I wasn't able to test out my crampons with these boots today though, as the weather just didn't call for it. They fit true to size, but I went a half size up in order to accommodate heavy winter socks. I have pretty narrow feet, and they fit fine when I tightened the laces. They hold my heal well so blistering was not an issue. Also, when descending, I didn't feel unstable at all or have my toes jammed to the front of the boot too badly. I really would buy these boots again.
Change me.
