Katadyn Micro Microfilter Water Bottle

Katadyn's new Micro Water Bottle Microfilter is a convenient, easy-to-carry, easy-to-use water filter. The Micro's filter lives inside the water bottle, so you've got a lightweight, maintenance-free means for acquiring clean water anywhere. The Micro's bite valve keeps you safe with a hands-free, no leak method for drinking from the bottle. The carbon filter and pleated cartridge provide improved taste, fewer chemicals, and a manageable flow rate. The Micro removes most microorganisms including bacteria and Giardia.

Bottom Line: Travel lightly and maintenance free with the Micro Water Bottle.

Great Addition

Only consider this filter as a time & weight saving back up. It is slightly heavier than a water bottle but can save time & weight on the trail. I recently used it hiking a multi-mile loop where packing water was too heavy an option. When you need water, simply stop, fill, drink, & be on your way. Use your primary filter @ camp.

microfilter water bottle

We just spent a couple of weeks in the Caribbean and although they say you can drink the water and there is plenty of bottled water, it was great to fill our bottle from any faucet and drink filtered H2O (we could definitely taste the difference!). A small issue we had though was that the filter takes quite a bit of space and does not leave that much room for water. We often filtered it into another bottle to have extra.

This will NOT due. My best advice is just to carry the amount you will need for that short of a trip in bladders.

great portable filter water bottle

This water bottle is light and easy to use. Once it's put together, all you do is unscrew the cap, pour water in, and you're ready to drink! It takes a second for the water to come out because it has to go through the filter, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I use it whenever I travel and put the tap water through it, and haven't gotten sick yet. The only downside is that it doesn't filter out viruses.

Excellent!

I am very happy with the Katadyn Micro Water Bottle Filter. It works fast, and provides a steady stream of water without too much effort in squeezing. It is convenient to clean and use... I don't think I could have been happier. Maybe the only thing I don't like is the fact that it’s so small. 22 oz. isn't really enough water to rely on between water sources on the trail, so it doesn't spare you from hauling other bottles of water or a bladder. But for the price, It’s spot on.

Micro Microfilter Water Bottle

By:

Disappointing - it claims to average 26 gallons, but after about 20 fillups, the water flow started getting very weak, and we ended up getting dehydrated and sucking and squeezing for every precious sip. It only came with 1 filter.
Get 1 bottle for each person, and 1 filter for about every 4 days.
