The Kaenon Kore Polarized Sunglasses are made with high-quality materials and designed for those who take their outdoor sports seriously. Whether you're playing a friendly game of volleyball or kite surfing on the sand flats, you'll appreciate the Kore's light and durable frame. These Kaenon sunglasses also use SR-91 Light Transmission Control polarized lenses for supreme optical quality and excellent contrast in a variety of lighting conditions. Ear and nose pads hold the Kore Sunglasses in place when you're diving for a ball, running down a trail, or doing anything else you like to do.
Bottom Line: The Kaenon Kore Polarized Sunglasses are hardcore shades for hardcore outdoor athletes.
I do a lot of sailboat racing and these are hands down the best polarized lenses I've ever had. I've used Revo, Maui Jim, Ray-Ban, Smith, Bolle, and others, but the Kaenons cannot be beat for clarity and glare reduction. They really help me see the wind on the water. I use the Copper-28 lenses, which are a very good all around lens. They block enough light for really bright days, but are light enough to use on cloudy or hazy days. If you do watersports, you will be very happy with these glasses.
I could be wrong, but I think that the small, medium and large sizes refer to the size of the lens (and not the frame). As shown on the Kaenon web site (http://kaenon.com/product), the large lens extends further down than the small lens. To be sure, I would contact either backcountry.com or Kaenon (the Kaenon web site also has a feature where you can input your gender, fit, sport and environment and it will give recommendation based upon this. Interestingly, the small, medium and large Kore's seem to be recommended whatever your gender and face size)
These are some of the most comfortable sunglasses I've ever worn. I love them for ski touring, mountain biking and trail running. These lenses are legit! Worth every penny!
The Kore is raw performance. Light weight frame, lens sizes for perfect fit, lens tints for optimum performance. I own the Kore Medium C28 and I bike in this frame all the time in all light conditions. Best lens I've ever worn - it is incredible.
I've used several polarized lenses over the years and most of them aren't suitable for mountain or road riding. Though the value of a polarized lenses is most often derived on water or snow, it's great to have reduced glare in all conditions. That said, the Kaenon Kore sunglasses are the only polarized sunglasses I recommend for road or mountain biking. With others, you'll get rainbow splotches as your tearing up the singletrack downhill (not too safe), but with Kaenon's lens technology, you get the clearest vision and best protection available.
I've been using the Kaenon Kore sunglasses this year for ski touring and regardless of the weather (stormy or sunny) they have far exceeded my expectations.
The 28 lens is the one I ended up getting and it's a solid performer in all but the most intense sun.
Sure, polarized shades are nice for driving (to cut the glare off of the road). But to use Kaenon Kore's for just driving would be like using your Porsche (assuming you have one, which I certainly don't) just for trips to the corner store. No, I really *need* good polarization when I'm sight-fishing for trout, on the snow, or driving on wet roads. Since polarization is so important for fly-fishing, I've gone through polarized shades from Oakley, Maui Jim, Smith, Bolle, Costa Del Mar, Action Optics, etc. And none of these work as well as my Kores (C12) in terms of clarity, comfort, and coverage (i.e., no light gets in around the lenses, and they don't block my field of vision). Yes, they give a little of a "bug-eye" look, but their performance can't be beat! I even like them so much that I picked up another pair with the Y35 lens, and these work great for low-light conditions (before sunrise or after sunset, or on very cloudy days).
If I had to come up with one complaint, it would be that the fit and coverage are so good that air flow is reduced, and these sunglasses can fog up if I'm involved in very aerobic activities. I also have a pair of Hard Kores that I often wear when I'm putting off heat. The Hard Kore is also an excellent pair of shades, but the lens is somewhat smaller (but not small). Which ever one you choose, Kaenon polarized sunglasses are some of the best shades you will ever find.
I work outdoors about 6 days a week and my Kore's are the only pair of sunglasses that I can wear all day long(I also own Arnette, Maui Jim and Hobie too). They are very comfortable and do stay put for the most part. Clarity is excellent and the polarization(blk-12 lens) keeps my sensitive eyes from squinting. The only problem I've had w/ the sunglasses is that both ear pads slide off. It's not really a problem if I don't take them off constantly. I purchased them from a friend for cheap, so I can't really complaint. Kaenon puts out a nice product. I also own 2 pairs of Kaenon Rhinos.
