These pants are great for hiking and travel - both functional and stylish! The zip off is the perfect length - not too short - and the pants are a bit stretchy. I normally wear a small (size 4), but I had to get a medium in these pants.

I just got my pair and tried them on - I normally wear a size 6 or 8 in pants, and these in Medium are *definitely* a size 6. I can wear them as-is, but if I lose 5 pounds they'll still look good and feel much better! If I were any larger at all, I'd definitely need a size up - so if you consistently wear a size 8 or larger, I'd suggest a L. I may skip the tumble dry low when I wash these, just in case.

Having said all this, the pants look good - the dark brown color is nice, the cut is fitted and flattering, and I think the contrast stitching make them look tough.
