Kokatat Gore-Tex Deluxe Sea Skirt - 2007

The Kokatat Gore-Tex Deluxe Sea Skirt is a truly exceptional skirt for extended touring, with features like a Velcro adjustable paddle park for letting the swells carry you and a pile-lined hand warmer for bringing the digits back to life. With a 3-layer Gore-Tex laminate and heavy Evolution nylon, this skirt will deflect water like a hot iron and is seriously seaworthy. The ¼-inch bungee rand is adjustable so it doesn't get in the way of aggressive paddling, while the daisy chain webbing on the deck portion allows you to clip a water bottle for easy access. Store some snacks in a zippered cargo pocket, and you're good to go for hours.

Bottom Line: Bring on the typhoon.

Love it!

I bought this skirt as a more weatherproof alternative to the nylon skirt I got when I bought my 1st kayak. There's nothing not to love about it; it has everything! Removable suspenders, a fleece-lined hand warmer (which I keep my camera in,) a mesh storage bag on the deck, and a cool little bow that keeps the skirt from sagging to avoid water pooling up on it. Also, the tunnel is adjustable with a couple hook-and-loop closure tabs to keep the Puget Sound where it belongs: outside the boat. Great buy, no regrets.

Kokatat Gore-Tex Deluxe Sea Skirt

This is a great kayak skirt for most all conditions. The gore-tex construction really does breathe and prevents that clammy fleeling you get with normal neoprene skirts. The fleece hand warmer is great on cold mornings. The only design flaw in my opinion is that they should have placed the bungee knot in the front rather than the back of the skirt. Having the knot in the back makes it a bit difficult to slide under the back of the combing. Overall, the best ocean kayak skirt I have used... a little pricey, but worth the extra $.
