Kokatat Gore-Tex Paclite Boater's Pants - Unisex - 2007

Gore-Tex Paclite Boater's Pants are perfectly suited for their purpose and built to last. Paclite, a 2-layer waterproof laminate, makes for the lightest and most compressible Gore-Tex rainwear on the market, taking up way less space when packed than comparable fabrics. Paclite keeps water out, but also lets it escape from within, transporting vaporous perspiration before it condenses and gloms onto your legs. The neoprene and Velcro closures at the ankles, while not waterproof, are far more leak-resistant and splash-proof than standard rain pants—perfect in a touring shell. Other ideal features include a high-back design and a self-draining thigh pocket with key lanyard so you don't need to pump bilge water when going from cockpit to driver's seat.

Bottom Line: Light, waterproof, breathable, and a self-draining pocket to boot. The perfect Boater's Pant.

Dry and Warm on the Narrows

By:
June 1, 2007

These pants came through when hiking in 40 degree water in Utah's Zion Narrows. Water did seep in ever so slightly on the ankles, but overall I highly recommend these pants if you will be trekking through rivers or facing extremely foul weather.

Paclite pants

By:
September 29, 2006

These are well made pants. I would have liked them to have a fuller cut, though. I used them once to date (weather finally cooling off to require pants) with a pair of SealSkinz socks with Chaco sandles. My feet kept dry. The pants are super-light and take up zero space. I Matched it up with a Kokatat Paclite pullover. I also like the pocket for my car keys. I only rate them a 4 because of the cut. Otherwise, they are a quality pant.

Kokatat Paclite Paddling Pants

By:
May 22, 2006

Atlantic and Long Island waters are cool year-round, rarely calm, so I looked for paddling pants that give me the most user options. My Kokatat Paclites are cut wide and loose for a great unrestricted fit. They do not result in overheating and they shed water. Plus, I've used them on hikes during thunder storms. I combine my Paclites with a short-sleeve dry top for most conditions.
