The KEEN Women’s Winthrop Boot uses a combination of leather and boiled wool to provide you with durability and a unique look when you head out into the snow-covered city. A tough, sticky rubber outsole holds well even on slippery sidewalks while KEEN’s wool lining ensures your toes don’t get chilly. The Winthrop Boot makes a great pick for anything from a downtown shopping spree to a night of chillin’ in the lodge after your day of skiing.
Bottom Line: Après boots just reached a new level of comfort and style.
I love these boots! They look so rugged yet not goofy! I wear 'em everywhere; with a skirt to church, with capris in the winter & you can wear them with jeans of course! Unless you have 'skinny' jeans, there is NO way you can tuck your jeans in the boot! It's too tight otherwise. They look great any way you want to wear them, but I would really recommend trying on a pair physically before you buy online. The meta tarsal area is somewhat loose but it tight on the calf when you zip up even without tightening the pull straps on back. They take a little breaking in & are crazy warm! Watch you don't over heat yourself; my warmer socks are too hot w/ these boots! I got the cordovan which is more red than the picture shows I think, but they still go with everything!
The Keen Bern is taller than the Winthrop. The height of the Winthrop depends on the size. The smaller the size of the boot, the shorter they will be. With largers sizes, they will be slightly taller. I have a size 9.5 and from bottom of floor to the top of the boot is 12" high.
Bummer!! I was so excited when I tore open the box...the boots were awesome. Then I put them on. I couldn't zip 'em over my calves. They are super cute and if you like Keen shoes, I'd recommend. Just wish I could expand the tops about 1/2 an inch! Foot size runs true.
no!!DakkaGuru: nan2855384 is lying, it has a zipper. the zipper is 9 1/8". The calf circumference is 14" and can be cinched from the back with an elastic cinch system. Heel is 1 1/4" tall and shaft of boot is 10.5".
I absolutely love my boots!! I ordered a half size bigger than I usually wear, because my Keen sandals work with half a size bigger. They feel a tiny bit too big even with big socks but not enough to not wear them. They are very comfotable, very warm and wet resistant. I would recommend them to everyone!
Bought these boots as an alternative to chunky apres ski boots, they work perfectly! Warm, comfy, and stylish with super grip in the icy conditions of austria. Calf would be a snug fit, but suit me fine. Love the colour seems to be slightly duller than picture (corovan. Good water resistance, seems to avoid sticky feet so must be breathable to a certain degree. All in all keen scores. You need to wear long socks to the knee
Who designs the shoes? Keen type gals are often runners, like me, and I keep reading they're too tight around the calf. So, lets make them bigger Keen people.
I can tuck my boot cut jeans into these by folding them across my shin, they fit, and still look great and are comfotable. They have a side zipper and an elastic lace in bak to adjust. I love them!
Great boots. Fit true to size -- don't order a 1/2 size larger than normal even if people tell you to. I did and I should have gone with my regular size. I am a runner and they fit my calves (just), but there is no way I can tuck pants into them. Very comfortable and suprisingly toasty. A great addition to my Keen collection!
Hello,I am looking for these boots but in black. Is there any way you could order them for me? please let me know, I can't find them anywhere.I appreciate your answer!ThanksAnna
I have pretty big calves and these fit me just great. I lvoe the zip up entry, so they are easy to get into. Sometimes I cant make it up my road, and these keep my feet warm and the snow out when I have to trek through a few feet of snow to get to my house, but they look cute too for hangin in town.
Can you please tell me the calf circumference of the boot? I usually order "wide calf" in boots and I've heard this calf size is normal to narrow. Thank you.
Very comfortable and warm. Boot leg was a bit tight when I first wore them but has stretched out to fit my calf. Looks nice with jeans and skirts, definately a new favorite!
got the keen winthrop with the boiled wool at the back. i love the color and the wool, but am wondering if i shouldn't get the black because they are all leather and waterproof. has anyone worn the wool (bison or cordovan) in winter or in rain?
Very warm, stylish and comfortable. I wear them almost everyday with jeans, skirts, etc. I do agree that the upper calf area is a bit tight, but does seem to be stretching out. Definitely recommend!
What's the deal with not carrying KEEN in women's 11/Eu 42? I love this store, but it never has my size in KEEN, the only brand i buy..frequently! Please expand size range to what everyone else carries.
The boot is pretty true to fit for Keen's. They fit true to size with both thin socks and thick socks. They have good support, especially the arch. They back bungie stays nice and snug where you put it and the side zipper makes them a cinch to get on and off. I love them!
Comfortable, warm, waterproof, cute. I ordered a half size up to accommodate bulky socks, but most of the time I don't need the bulky socks. I live in northern Ohio, and the only time my feet have gotten cold in these boots is when I was outside for over half an hour when it was less than 25 degrees.
I'm a keen fan, but these boots are much wider than I expected! I usually wear a solid 8 in other keen shoes, but in these I wear a 7.5 and my foot still has room to move... esp in the heel. My feet are on the narrow side, but I'm still suprised at how wide the boots are...esp in the heel! I hope Keen doesn't expect us to wear very thick socks every time we wear these!
Nice look, cute, but the fit could definitely be narrower in the heel.
I got the cordovan and love the color-- it's unique. I have 2 other pairs of shoes from Keen, sandals and sneakers and they fit the same way, perfect. At first they feel wide, but once you get used to them the fit is fine. I agree with others that the top of the calf can be tight... they did stretch a bit and fit fine now. I walked through IKEA for 2+ hours and didn't have a tired back from walking slow. Haven't tried them in slush yet... it's been too cold for the snow to melt here in NH! They keep you feet warm too.
I ordered this boot in hopes for more comfort and style for the winter months in Minnesota! I was excited to try them on! As I did the zipper did not reach the top, my calves are too well shaped at the top for it to close!! I also noticed when i walked with the boot the heel pressed into my achillies tendon, making it uncomfortable experience, I wished they would have fit and have been more flexible!
Well, I read over the other reviews and seem to agree with what most have to say: these are funky looking and functional boots. I can shovel the sidewalk and then go to a local art show opening and still maintain a level of rural-chic. I can't wear short socks with them, though. When I walked to the store in them (2.2km), the top part rubbed on my legs and I now have two red burn marks that circle the front half of my legs. Lesson learned. I don't let my other boots touch my bare skin, I don't know why I thought I could get away with it with a pair of Keen boots.
I live in Minnesota and was looking for a boot that could take me on errands around town and sledding with my kids. The boots kept me warm around town and even snowshoeing in northern Minnesota. However, when I shoveled the driveway and went to an outdoor wolf preserve, my toes got cold after about 30 minutes. (I guess that's what clompy Sorels are for.) But I still give it 5 stars since they are very easy on & off (they have a zipper) and are very cute. I normally wear an 8 1/2 shoe and I bought this boot in a 9, which is perfect for adding a pair of thick socks. Keep in mind that unless you are super-skinny, you won't be able to tuck in your pants, so the cute criss-cross detailing in the back may be hidden from view. But you will know it is there...
I order my regular size and feel a little bit big. But they are perfect with a nice pair of SmartWool socks. If you dont have a pair of these get them quick before they are gone. Especially if you live in the snow belt like I do.
I'm not sure why I'm different from some other reviewers, but my feet are normal size/narrow and I found these to be a perfect fit. I wear size 8 Keen sandals, and found these to fit fine with normal to thick socks. Very cute and actually warm and weatherproof so far - fine in snow and warm all day. Only drawback is a tiny bit tight around the top of the calf. I'm hoping they will stretch out so I can tuck pants in.
I have never gotten so many compliments on a pair of shoes. I love Keens, these boots are lined with the boiled wool so they are warm for the whole winter. They also have the silicon leather on them so my feet stay dry when going to work. They are the coolest boots, I recommend a tall sock though if you don't tuck them into jeans, if you have short socks, the wool can be scratchy on your shins.
