The Women’s Winterport Boot takes all the comforts of KEEN’s summer footwear and adds a helping of insulation and weather protection to take on chilly, wet winter conditions. You still get the drawstring lacing you like, but now it wraps around 200 grams of KEEN.WARM insulation and a waterproof breathable KEEN.DRY membrane. A tall upper keeps out the snow when you’re making your way to the mailbox after last night’s storm, and KEEN’s Dual Climate Carbon sole won’t even mark up the kitchen floor when you get back in the house.
I've bought Keen's shoes for years. I bought this winter boot because it was one of the few without zippers and I don't have to worry about any malfunctions.
Anyone know why the smaller sizes are still $10 more than the 7.5 size? I want to try this boot out, but am stuck between those sizes and don't want the pricing to steer me wrong!
It's not uncommon for certain sizes or colours to be different sale prices, in any store, due to stocking considerations or some other reason.
Go with the size that's most likely to fit - if you spend $10 less and have a boot that's too big, you're not going to be happy with it, or you'll end up returning it or exchanging it for a smaller size anyway. A good deal isn't a good deal unless it works for you.
Very light weight for winter boots. Similar in style and feel to the Newport sandals, but with uppers, turning them into boots. The toe-box area is wider than other brands, so your toes don't feel so cramped. Waterproof, warm. I ordered the "men's" boot for a different color; an 8 1/2 in women's is the same size as a 7 1/2 in men's. Reccommend a 1/2 size larger than your normal shoe size. (I usually wear an 8 in women's).
Write your question here...I see these boots are good for snow. What about water. We will be getting in & out of a boat all day right into the water. Will these boots keep me dry ?
This my third pair of these boots...I absolutely love them! They are warm and have a super cute style. I wish they had more colors available because I think I'd buy every color! I have the pink, black, and now the slate gray(which is more like brown). I wear them all day in the winter in the midwest where I am in and out of my car all day. I highly recommend them!
If you plan on wearing thick winter socks with these boots, they might fit ok. If you have narrow feet at the toes as well, they might seem a little loose in the toe-box area.
I ended up with a pair of these in 8.5, I usually wear 7.5 in Keens and most other shoes, but I figured with socks they'd be fine. I went on a trip to Alaska and was terrified I'd be cold the whole time, but I was hiking around in single layers because my feet were SO WARM! I hiked 5-10 miles three days in a row with no problems. Also dunked them several times going through streams and such and couldn't even tell! The large size wasn't a problem because the boots can be cinched down quite nicely, and I was even only wearing mid-weight socks and neither the size nor the cold ever bothered me! Long story as to 8.5, but if I could re-order, I'd probably get an 8, but I don't live in a climate that's that cold, just wear them on occasion. I love these boots, and when it does snow around here, or with a daily high of less than 40, I'll be wearing them everywhere :)
Excellent boots. I use it for hiking and snowshoeing in the Canadian winter (Blue Mountains in Ontario). Wind chill factor was -25ºC and my feet was still toasty warm. Excellent price as well. Very comfortable, I ordered a half size bigger to allow thick woolen socks and my toes had wiggle room.
Whats your return policy. I want to order these and our local REI does not carry them so i am unable to try them on. I do own a few pair of Keen but what im worried about is the fit around my calves.
I have slightly larger calves (built up from biking in the summer) and I've had no issues with the boot upper being too tight. They're actually roomy enough to wear with thick socks (however the shoe size runs small; order a 1/2 size larger than you'd normally get.)
I love my keen boots. They are warm and keep my feet dry. They are also very comfortable. I wear them all the time. I do recommend ordering up 1/2 a size. I love the color also. I got the black slate gray and they are more brown than black.
