KEEN Wasatch Crest WP Trail Run Shoes - Women's

eVent fabric on the Keen Women's Wasatch Crest WP Trail Run Shoes provides waterproof breathable protection for your endurance trail runs. Mud season, snowmelt, and sudden mountain showers won't bother these trail shoes. Keen's S3 heel supports absorb shock, while ¾-length plates add torsional stability. The Wasatch Crest WP Trail Shoes have asymmetrical flex lacing to help alleviate pressure points.

Bottom Line: Conquer the Wasatch 100.

Almost sent them back, but I warmed up to them.

I used the chat option to ask advice about good shoes for supination, and the KEEN brand was recommended. I ordered these shoes and they arrived in a matter of days! But they do not look like the picture on the sight. They are waterproof, and they look it! When I took them out of the box, they looked huge and clunky. I originally thought they were really ugly, but I have warmed up to them. The colors are really nice.

The laces are far too short, which causes problems with getting the best fit. And they did have a break in period of about a week. But I do have to say that they are now quite comfortable, and seem to be helping with my back pain. Also, they are quite warm, but breathable so they don't make my feet sweat.

In short, I'm glad I kept them. I am sold on the KEEN brand, but wouldn't necessarily buy this particular shoe again.

Would these be suitable for year-round or warm-weather running?

Would these be suitable for year-round or warm-weather running? The waterproof aspect makes them sound like me feet would cook in them. Also, do they have a wide toe box?

They would be alright as a year round shoe, they may get a little warm in the hot weather.

Not quite the typical KEEN fit

By:
December 1, 2008

I was really excited to get these shoes in the mail because they appeared to have all of the typical features I look for in a winter shoe. Unfortunately, they don't seem to follow the typical KEEN fit. The toe box is unusually tight. I don't have wide feet and can usually wear any brand of running shoe, but my toes actually feel as though they've been stuffed in a tigh pillow box and threaten to fall asleep on me when I put the shoes on. Also, the laces are too short to get a good cinch on. In addition, the laces need one more eyelet at the top to get a good fit. The opening at the ankle is so wide that, combined with low-sitting laces, I have a difficult time tightening the shoe to where my heel doesn't slip. Sadly, I think I'll return them as I've been avoiding wearing them. I ordered slightly large for me, but the toes are tight and if I go any larger, my foot won't stay in it. It's otherwise a very smooth, nice looking shoe with a great in & out sole.

Had potential

By:

I have wide feet and have trouble finding comfy shoes except for Keens. I ordered these in my regular 7.5 size, but they were way too tight! The laces were so short I couldn't even tie them! Come on! I sent them back for an 8, since both of my pairs of boots from Keen are 8s, but they were far too long, my heels were slipping out and they were still way too tight! The fit was horrible, I couldn't even tighten the laces to get more free to tie because they were so tight! And the laces were still too short. So they look fantastic and I'm sure perform well, but they just have a strange fit, and really? Making the laces too short? That's just crazy. Keen can do better than that!
