The KEEN Men’s Voyageur Mid Hiking Shoes give you the support and comfort to breeze over rugged terrain like it’s nobody’s business. When you’re hopping between boulders, this KEEN boot’s mid-high cut stabilizes your ankle and its ESS shank adds rigidity and support. The aggressive outsole’s multi-directional 4mm lugs provide exceptional traction over rugged terrain, while a dual-density compression-molded EVA midsole guides and cushions your feet. KEEN added lots of vent windows to circulate air, and incorporated removable metatomical footbeds so you can easily throw in your custom footbeds.
Best pair of light hikers i've ever owned! I wouldn't strap a 60lb. pack on while wearing them, but for day hikes or overnighters they dominate. Great traction on wet boulders, scree fields and anything else you want to throw at them. As advertised, they are more of a shoe than a boot. I've had mine for about 100 miles of hiking and they are standing up just fine. Come on Keen, make a backpacking boot for me!
Keen has a wider toe box than some other manufactures. they are nice for wider feet. they systematically run a .5 size small so by a half size up to get the proper fit
If Hobit's every decided to wear footwear these would be it! I have wide feet and strange toes - years of rock climbing, mountaineering and extreme approaches and backpacking trips have done their damage to my poor pups. These boots are COMFY! They offer almost offer as much traction as my Five Ten Guide Tennies but with a better fit, more ankle support and flexibility. Ventilation is good which is a necessity since I live in the Sonoran Desert. They do run a half-size too small so make sure an order them accordingly.
I primarily use the KEEN's for walking around town, light backpacking and approach to climbing sites.
I came to Keens after trying several of the other name brands and not being particularly happy at the end of a long day of trekking because of fit problems. My first Keens was one of their trail shoes and I was so happy with the fit, the price, the comfort, and the quality that when it came time to replace my boots, I headed for Backcountry for a bargain and gave the Keen Voyageur a try. I have not been disappointed and neither will you. They are everything I had hoped for in fit, comfort and quality, just add stability and off-road durability. The only problem might be for people with larger than size 12 as this seemed to be the largest size - fine for me but not sure about others!
I've been wearing these in the Iraqi Desert for the last several months (in temperatures averaging 115-120). They have excellent ventilation to keep my feel cool and dry. Ankle support is minimal, so I wouldn't recommend carying a pack more than 35/40 pounds. Keen tends to be a bit wide. I usually wear an 8D, and these 8s fit perfectly.
Keen's are going to be much wider, probably the widest natural width on the market. Get on the live chat and they'll be able to sort out exactly which are the lightest shoes they carry.Hope that helps.
Im recovering from a broken foot, my foot doctor saw me wearing them and told me that they were a good choice only confirming what I already discovered,Keen are my new favorite shoes.Very comfortable and give good support.
HI guys,I'm in Australia- firstly, can you supply a pair of Keen Voyager Mid's in size 14? if so, how long and how much to ship to Australia?looking forward to hearing from you,CheersRichard McNay
I would only recommend these boots to someone who has clapped their old boots together over my head at 3am.
After wearing out my previous boots on the AT, I followed a salesmanâs recommendation that these boots were just as good as my previous boots with the added benefit of a wider toe-box. What I found was the following: ï Any stone or rock stepped upon will be felt directly by the foot. The footbed is simply insufficient to protect the bottoms of your feet from feeling every pebble. ï The tongue of the boot is too short and along with the design of the collar and uppermost hooks for lacing it was very difficult to keep the detritus of the trail from getting down deep in your boots without gaiters. ï After a single day of hiking in drizzly conditions, the glue holding the soles started to give way. These boots were returned to the store where they were purchased after six days of use in a dilapidated state.
My fiance does sound, loading and unloading 2 tractor trailers full of P.A. He says it's like building a treehouse every day, climbing, lifting, walking, stacking it up and tearing it back down. His feet hurt. His back hurt. His HAIR hurt. I took care of his feet and the rest is on it's way. He was immediately impressed by the arch supports, and watching him kick the speaker cabinets straight, I couldn't help but appreciate the wraparound toe reinforcement. Torn ligaments get the ankle support, but the cutaway in the back allow the constant kneeling and squatting to happen easily. Can't wait for a summer tour to hear how well they breathe! BTW, I have a pair of Keen's myself (love 'em) which is why I chose the brand. I did good.
I GIVE THESE SHOES FIVE STARS BECAUSE THEY ARE LIGHTWEIGHT AND COMFORTABLE. THEY ARE EASY TO PUT ON AND TAKE OFF. THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD GRIP ON MOST SURFACES; VERY STABLE.
