The KEEN Women’s Palermo WP Boot gives you a classy style while the drawstring lacing system keeps it simple and functional. A waterproof breathable KEEN.DRY membrane keeps your feet dry while you stroll down snowy sidewalks and traverse that 20-foot mud puddle that just doesn’t want to disappear. KEEN even added a non-marking rubber outsole, so you don’t have to worry about leaving streaks on your tile when you head back into the house.
Bottom Line: Winter shoes that don’t make you look like you’re visiting Santa.
I wanted to like these, but aesthetically they're really lacking, even for waterproof/winter boots. It's rare to find a pair of boots that can be both weather proof and attractive, and I think these are too clunky and stiff to be considered stylish. Perhaps they are amazing in the rain and snow, but I won't be finding out!
This is my third pair of Keen's, and this pair fits a little on the big/loose side. I would have ordered a half size smaller if I had known, but they fit okay with thick socks. Super comfy, don't need to be broken in. Using Superfeet insoles for better support.
I wear hiking boots for snow shoeing (these would not have enough support). I would not be worried about warmth - many people do not use lined boots for snowshoeing, just warm socks.
No they aren't. They don't have a heavy enough sole, they're definitely not warm enough and they're maybe too cute to get hammered on while showshoeing. I'd look at some of the Sorel line like the Caribou. Not as cute but more suited for that purpose.
These are my 8th pair of Keens, and my 3rd pair of Keen boots. I was sad that my Stockholms, which I lived in all last winter, are no longer waterproof, so to assuage my pain I bought these.
These are slightly more dressy than other Keen boots; I wear them to work and love the leather and suede look, sometimes at a glance they almost look like Mary Janes peeking out under the jeans hem.
The foot bed is super supportive, they actually feel like my Vibram soled hiking boots - stiff but supportive. I've walked about 3 miles the first couple of days on slushy roads and my feet didn't complain a bit.
The only gripe is I wore them the first time with socks that slouched, and my right boot rubbed where the zipper is at the top. I've remedied that by wearing higher socks.
Sizing is pretty standard Keen - order half size larger. I wouldn't go down like the other reviewer said, your toes will hit the tip. The synch will help you get the perfect fit.
I see they're on sale now - I highly recommend these, they breathe well and definitely keeps the wetness out.
These are not insulated at all, depending where you are on the east coast, the winter varies, if its cold I would suggest some warm socks, maybe some Merino Wool.
These are my 8th pair of Keens and my 3rd pair of Keen boots.
These are probably the dressiest of the three I have (Stockholm, Chamonix), and gives me an added inch of lift.
These remind me of my vibram-soled hiking boots in that they are stiff and therefore quite supportive. They're not soft in the heels like the other two, but I can still wear them for miles without discomfort.
The waterproofness is superb, and the breathability makes wearing them indoors during the day a breeze.
The only problem I've had so far is the first day I wore them with slouchy socks and the right boot where the zipper ends at the top rubbed my skin. I just now wear high socks.
Sizing is pretty standard Keen - if you're on the larger side of a particular size, go half size up. These do feel pretty true to size, but I went up half size like I do with all my Keens and this affords me to wear thicker socks.
All in all, dressy yet casual, and ever so functional. Thumbs up!
great boots, Walked miles the first time worn, good support, stylish and true to size. Now I have hiking keens, sandal keens and winter boots by keen. What more can one ask for? Cheers
What kind of last is this boot built on. All my shoes are SL2. ie straight flat shoes. I wonder if I would have problems with this model because it has a heel.
These are my second pair of Keen boots. First pair where the Keen Juneau. I work outdoors all year round, from below freezing conditions to high 90's. I was looking for a pair of boots the were not as warm as the Juneau,(when the weather started to warm up in the spring time), but still delivered the water proofing I need for the rain. I don't like to wear socks, so, the Palermo are perfect. Made well, stylish, and wow, very comfortable. They could have offered more tread, but, still work well. I now own five pairs of Keen shoes. I love the generous room in the toe box, even though I have a narrow foot, this allows for my foot to spread out with no cramping. Keen shoes you rock!
Hi there! I recently bought a pair of Keen Briggs in size 9 1/2 and I absolutely love love them. I am considering buying these Keen boots and was wondering if I should stick with 9 1/2 or should I go up to a 10?
I needed a black boot that was warm, durable, comfortable and good looking enough to wear to work. This one definitely fits the bill. I plan to wear them casually, and to many frigid soccer games!
