Been looking forward to your weekend hike? Us too. Slip on the Keen Women’s Genoa Peak WP Hiking Boot for excellent support, traction, and cushioning. The Genoa Peak boot’s S3 support structure absorbs and dissipates shock, while an ESS shank offers superb torsional stability, making each step a little smoother and more secure. A waterproof breathable KEEN.DRY membrane defends your tootsies from rainstorms, streams, and lurking puddles. A women-specific fit won’t cramp your feet or cause uncomfortable rubbing or sock-bunching.
Bottom Line: Light, fast, and comfortable. Go for a hike.
Needed waterproof shoes for Minnesota weather. Love the shoes. They are warm and dry without being sweaty. Great construction for high arch and plantar facitis. Nice wide toes like orthopedist advises. Right out of the box the heel slipped up and down on the ankle, but one of your reviews suggested tightening the laces. Now they're really good.
I bought these on the advice of my podiatrist. I wear a rigid custom orthotic and run in a stability shoe thanks to a chronically bad ankle. These are my new winter shoes as I am rehabbing! These are awesomely stable and firm without being clunky. They have terrific traction and are super-comfortable. I would recommend them without hesitation. No blisters--even with my adjusted positioning (thanks to the orthotic) and a great look too. Size fits true with just-the-right amount of toe wiggle room! Love 'em.
She is a PT, thus on her feet all day at the hospital and is very impressed with how comfortable and supportive these shoes are. And she mentioned that she was pleasantly surprised by the solid traction and warmth these shoes have offered in the rather cold and snowy start to our Colorado winter.
Just to let you know, I worried that the shoes would be bulky and wide, since I am thin with narrow feet. I was pleasantly surprised when I put these shoes on and they felt like heaven. I love them. I wore them to the Texas Renaissance Festival and walked for miles without any issues. I had several compliments from my friends who noticed them immediately. Great shoe!
The Keen Genoa Peak has a moisture wicking textile Keen Genoa Peak WP has the KEEN.DRY Waterproof breathable membrane. Also on the WP Keen added a protection plate and a better traction. More bang for the buck.
I have these in (Shitake) brown and love their versatility. Rugged without being too clunky. They are a bit narrower than most women's Keen styles, and were stiff to start out, but I took a week or so to break them in before taking them to task & would recommend this to anyone planning a long hike or trek. Once broken in, they have formed to my feet and I can wear them for a whole day without a problem. Excellent stability for slippery or uneven terrain. Pair them with SmartWool socks for breathability. As for some complaints about them being too warm, I would say this: these seem to be marketed as hiking shoes for cold and damp weather conditions, not really meant for summer or casual day-to-day wear.
I bought them as a gift for my daughter and she seems to like them fine. The tongue of the shoe bothered her a little bit but she figured out how to adjust it and seems to be happy with them. The shipping time was great and so was the price. Thanks.
I got these hoping for a lighter-weight, low cut hiking shoe that would stand up well in mud and nasty conditions and boy, did they deliver! They are as comfortable as most tennis shoes and keep your feet warm and dry. I haven't tried them in our Oklahoma summers yet, but I'm sure I'll still love them. Order the same size as you get in your Keen sandals (aka a half-size up from your normal shoe brands), and you'll be just fine.
I think KEEN makes some nice enough shoes, and some interesting designs. I love the rubber protection around the toes, as I'm a bit of a klutz and often stub mine. I have narrow feet, and the Genoa Peak WP are a better fit than some of the other KEENs that I've tried. I think some of their models aren't women's specific, but these are. There are a few things that I'm not too fond of. The heel is not built up high enough in the back, and with more of a running stlye build, your heel is raised and it feels like it may slip out. Also, the KEEN Dry material seems to keep your feet dry from mud, puddles, and wet snow, but it does not breathe very well. Finally, the laces seem slightly too short and thin. All in all, I like these shoes and they will be good for wearing around town and short (few hour) day hikes, but I'm not overly impressed.
