Next weekend wear the Keen Men's Blackcomb Winter Boot, when you escape the city and head to the woods for some camping. You won't mind that the temps are getting chilly with the Blackcomb's Primoloft insulation. In fact it's the perfect temp to build a fire, and with the Blackcomb's rubber toe guard, your toes won't get smashed when you head into the brush for some wood. When the fire is ready cuddle with your loved one; the nylon lining will pull sweat away if they get warm to keep your feet dry. The next morning when you wake up, slip on these boots and head out on the dewy grass with steady footing, as the Blackcomb's soles offer optimal traction on wet and dry surfaces.
Bottom Line: The Keen Men's Blackcomb is one boot for a whole weekend—isn't simplicity great?
I got this boot for my brother to walk around grimy Manhattan during rains (and still look fashionable) and he loves them. He loves them so much he wears them even when the weather is great. He says they're light and comfy and also make him a bit taller which means this is one pair of boots worth the money.
These boots were an impulse buy as I was tired of my cold feet. I ordered the same size I wear in other Keen models and found these to be a little tighter. In a store, I would have tried a half size bigger but I think that might have been too big. They have great traction and are very warm. Very satisfied but they are Keen, I knew I would be.
These boots aren't actually Temp. rated. A friend of mine has them and we did some winter camping and these are the boots he wore. It got down to -5ºf and he started to get a little cold but not too bad.
Great Boots for the money - I needed a pair when I moved to Montana 2 weeks ago and they arrived just in time for the 20 below zero weather we had. They also work well as snowshoe boots. The men's wider fit works better for me in the winter months - only need one pair of merino wool socks.
Extraordinarily comfortable. The boots stick to rocks like the feet of a gecko climbing a wall. Got 1/2 size larger than my Keen sandals, fit perfectly.
I have been wearing Keen's for about 3 yrs now, and they can run a little wide. I have a normal, width foot, and I have been wearing the Targhee's. The way that they are design, you can pull them up real tight on the sides, making the width of the boot thinner. My Keen's have always started off a little wide, but after a couple weeks of wearing them, they conform to my foot.
Quite simply the most comfortable, effective mid-cold / winter boots I have ever owned. Not for the blizzards and sub-zero days - but for everything else here in MN. They fit like a glove (like my Keen sandles). Not completely waterproof but good enough. Breathable, etc.etc. I love them!
Warm, fit to size though they do feel a little tight when you first put them op but they "pack out" once warm. Good boot for short hikes and back and forth to work on winter days.
Hi, I"d like to know if the boots are true to size? Gym shoes size I wear a 10.5 US. Does the boot fit like the Keen scandals? Or do I have to geta size smaller?Thank you.
This is my first pair of Keen boots, the construction is first notch. The fit is very good as it is true to size and so far appears to give very good overall support. They could be a little wider at the toes for me to allow more movement when standing still to keep the toes warmer longer, miner concern though. My only problem has been the right boot when tightly laced the top inside eyelet is not covered by the tongue properly and it bites into the top of my ankle and is uncomfortable. I covered it with a small adhesive pad and it seems to have solved the problem. Still waring the boots and happy with their warmth and traction on slick surfaces plus the soles do not seem to collect dirt or mud easily.
I only wear Keens, they always fit right and are comfortable. It is just getting cold here in midstate New York but they are plenty warm on cool days so I know they will be great in the snow (tonight).
My favorite shoes are the Keen Targhee II. The Blackcomb boots are just like Targhee II's but in a winter version. A joy to wear and the mid height is just right for the snow. Warmth is more than adequate for winter conditions
