The Keen Ashland Casual Shoe has an outdoors heritage. Born from Keen's hybrid footwear line, the Ashland incorporates their now-famous toe bumper in a slip on shoe designed to be worn in town. Other outside inspiration is found in the lugged sole, weather-resistant uppers, and supportive midsole. Commuters never had it so good—catch the train or walk to work in a shoe rugged enough for the trail.
Bottom Line: Trek through town in trail worthy shoes.
I have lived in these shoes for the past two yrs. They rubbed the side of my ankles for a few weeks when I got them, but after they broke in a bit, they are by far the best shoes I have ever owned. I am buying my 2nd pair today with full confidence that I will be getting another great keen product. They pair I have is still in very good shape, but I want to use them exclusively as operating room shoes and have a nice, clean, germ free pair for when I get home from work. I would never hesitate buying these shoes. They are as waterproof as it gets. I have stood in water puddles to see if they will eventually leak...they don't. The leather is tough, but comfortable and it wipes clean so easily due to the lack of crevasses. I help preserve the leather with mink oil, and they still look great after 2 yrs. Bottom line: buy them, you'll be glad you did!
Bought these shoes after reading a review about them in REI. Make sure if you do buy these to buy a size smaller. I normally wear a 12 but had to buy an 11. One of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I have owned. After they were broken in they were as comfortable as a pair of socks and very weatherproof.
I liked this shoe, I really did. It was funky and cool looking, unique, and well made. One problem, my toes hit the end of the shoe and I had to return them. A larger size would not have helped, because my feet had plenty of room otherwise. Be careful with these, I think what happens is that a shoe without laces does not hold one's foot securely and they can slide forward, letting the toes hit the upturned front end. I have a pair of Keene Bronx in the same size and this problem did not occur.
A co-worker has a pair and I like how they looked so I bought myself a pair. I was not disappointed. They are probably the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. They're durable, comfortable, look great with jeans (or in my line of work, hospital scrubs). I'd buy another pair with out hesitation. They're THAT good.
I saw a previous reviewer complain that these shoes didn't hug his feet well enough, and that his toes got crammed into the shoes. That has not been my experience. While I found them a little lightweight at first, and was worried they seemed stiff, the formed to my feet quickly and have held up well. I like the rubber toe, as I seem to scuff all my other shoes in the front. They are just what I wanted.
I bought a pair of these shoes for my uncle and he loved them! After wearing them everyday for about 3 months, he asked me to get him 2 more pairs in each of the different colors Keen makes. They are his favorite!
My husband works at a bank and spends a lot of time not only in dress clothes, but standing a lot. I got these for him based off a recommendation from an employee at Backcountry.com, and he loves these! They are by far his favorite to wear to work as they're lightweight and very comfortable. The no-lace feature is actually nice and he said they fit true to size.
