K2 Edge Helmet

Pop on the K2 Edge Helmet and get inverted. This lightweight ski and snowboard helmet meets the highest safety test standards, so you know it’ll save your precious noggin from crashes and rude encounters with trees. K2 included the removable baseline audio system with the Edge Helmet, so you can ride with your tuneage and not stress about matching accessories to your helmet (now that’s safety-first thinking). Soft ear pads with venting help prevent cramping, and top venting keeps your dome from overheating.

Bottom Line: The K2 Edge Helmet; dome maintenance in a minimal, lightweight package.

Good ski mountaineering helmet

I got this helmet for ski mountaneering, but ended up loving it for just about any type of skiing. For ski mountaineering, I wanted something that was lightweight and low profile with no bills, or anything that could catch a sling or rope if it was being placed over your head. I also didn't need a full-on hardshell type of helmet as I'm not expecting to get clocked by any rocks or slam head-first into a lift tower. All that said, this is a foam based helmet, which will give you some protection, but not the full-on beefcake pantyhose protection of a hardshell helmet, which has issues of their own, namely they don't fit very well and ride too high for my personal liking, and if I don't like them, I don't wear them, which kind of makes a super safe helmet irrelevant for me.

What I wasn't expecting out of the Edge helmet is that it would be so comfortable. All heads are different, but the liner and adjustment straps/system seem to perfect suck this helmet onto my noggin.

One negative about this helmet is that they little dial adjustment dealie on the back is not very good. It seemed to stick, so I cranked it a bit harder and it came off in my hand. I was able to plug it back in, but you have to baby it a bit.

I've been using this with a VIO helmet cam and love the stability of helmet.

I was at a store looking for helmets and I came across a K2 helmet.

I was at a store looking for helmets and I came across a K2 helmet. I can't remember exactly which one it is but it was very comfortable as appose to the other ones I tried on. I noticed this helmet included speakers in it which is something I am looking for. So my questions are, how comfortable is this helmet, and how are the speakers?

I've always worn K2 helmets, I just like how they fit. You should look at the Clutch or the Indy or the crossfire etc... but I'm not a fan of the edge. It's way too light weight and flimsy feeling. The most comfortable+bomproof=CLUTCH. Speakers are actually alright too. I prefer skullcandy for skiing audio though. K2 integrated speakers don't sound as good as skullcandy.

Light brain bucket

This is my first helmet in 35 years of skiing and so far I really like it. It is lightweight and seems to breathe pretty well, I can feel the breeze inside the shell.

The wheel adjustment for fit is great, but it pinches the back of my head a little bit when I'm in a full tuck.

My goggles work well over the outside of the helmet and the little keeper strap at the rear holds the goggle strap in place.

I removed the speakers to make it even lighter, besides I like to hear and be able to make an evasive maneuver when I'm about to get him by some idiot.

Highly recommend.
