The K2 Formula Snowboard Binding's lightweight construction and medium flex let you perform in the park, the backcountry, and everywhere in between. K2 updated the Formula with the ultra lightweight Asym Airframe highback, which features a reduced starting forward lean and has asymmetrical shaping to match your stance. Up front you get a new tool-less adjustable toe strap that K2 cored to reduce weight on this binding still more. Wear this toe strap on top or in front of your boot. K2's Litespeed EZ Feed aluminum ratchets let you strap in quickly so you can get to riding faster.
Bottom Line: This K2 binding is your winning formula for kicking butt anywhere on the mountain.
These bindings are just ridiculous. Park binding with a solid freeride performance. They are tight to the board for more feel, yet the straps are soft for maneuverability. With the price on these you can't go wrong. Oh, by the way the look DOPE!
How would you feel about putting these on a Forum Grudge? I'm hoping to make that my next setup as an all-mtn/freestyle stick, and I'm still not 100% on the bindings. If the Formulas are a bad idea, any better ones?
yes they definitly will...they are high quality bindings from a reputable company. Most importantly, they havent gone to EXTREME measures to minimalize materials and weight, which is in my opinion the reason why bindings break most. Only problem you might have is the cable in the auto toe strap breaking (but it sounds like K2 fixed that). They will stand up to normal riding just fine. Worst Case Senerio, your bindings break: if you buy them from here they have the best return policy ever and you can return them even if all you have is a pile of parts.
Some crazy reviews below this one... one guy giving 5 stars and then comparing it to the burton mission?? One guy's friend tears up his own bindings then this guy ripping K2 for it?.. And nate... Its a freestyle/all around binding... Stay in the Heli if you're packing these. The K2 Formula, especially when screwed to the K2 Darkstar, is perfect for every inch of in bounds terrain, especially ripping park and tight tree lines. There's just no better binding for anywhere NEAR the price. They feel Good on, and soft landings. Super fast to strap in and out of
Are the Formulas the same thing as the Autos but without the auto technology? And if they're not, which one would be better for all mountain and hard freeriding(if that makes any sense).
you made sense and no they arent the same...these are softer than the Autos and arent as good for agressive freeride. the autos are better for you, and more convienent
straight stupid! these bindings can be compared to the Burton missions in flex and response but have allot more padding for the feet. they have a heal dampener and a toe strap that doubles as a cap strap and an old school over the toe. in the end very responsive, very comfortable, very sweet
This is a park binding, but I am not an all park rider. This binding serves me well for backcountry riding, as well as groomer, pipe and park rides. This is one of the best bindings I have ever used, but if you are a weight weenie, there are lighter bindings that you can get that will lighten your load so to speak... The one thing I really like about these binders though is the fact that I can carry a pretty heavy pack, and they keep my ankles locked in snugly... Keep up the good work, K2...
These bindings are solid, but you'll feel like there has to be something better. Not a knock on K2, but nothing really stands out about them. Responsive, but not superior response.
