K2 Gyrator Snowboard - 2008

We didn't think it was possible, but the K2 Gyrator Snowboard's Powder Rocker construction makes powder even more fun. Conventional boards have camber (where the board curves upward slightly in the middle), the Gyrator has rocker, like a surf board. The reverse curvature helps the board rise to the surface of soft snow while you stay in a centered stance, which means more powerful powder turns, less leg burn, and easier landings. K2 tapered the Gyrator board's lively wood core at the tips to create low swing weight for easier spins. Although built for the deep stuff, the Gyrator's hyper-progressive sidecut keeps it maneuverable enough to ride the entire mountain.

Bottom Line: Surf the powder.

Powder Dominator

such a fun board. I've been riding this almost exclusively these days since luckily tahoe has been getting dumped on. It really does float as advertised and it's super responsive. I'm a big guy, 6'4 230lb and i ride the 168 no problem. I love snapping of natural hits with this thing. so fun. Sadly I slammed a hidden land mine and tore through to the core. The base seems a little thin on further inspection but i guess what do you expect when you bomb onto a rock.

Any advice for hard pack with Gyrator? Also I've been riding

Any advice for hard pack with Gyrator? Also I've been riding Malolo for last a couple of years and feel kinda funny with centered stance Gyrator. Takes some time to get used to?

Keep your knees bent. I've found that keeping your stance set as wide as possible helps too. It does take a while to get the hang of.

SO MUCH FUN

Overall Gyrator is way much more fun than my old Malolo or Fish. Awesome floatation! For in-resort riding? Sure, Malolo would turn better and smoother but that is NOT the reason I quit riding with Gyrator!
