K2 Anti Piste Telemark Ski - 2006

The Anti Piste Telemark Ski is K2's fattest tele offering this season. That's right, it's called the Anti Piste. With dimensions of 131/98/116mm, this ski dwarfs even the Hippy Stix. The AP is a pure powder ride that's all about soul. Designed to paint smiles on powder hounds' faces, this ski's dependable, damp wood core and fat footprint combine to provide buoyancy and liveliness that are often difficult to find in a ski this wide. Though it'll turn on hardpack and groomers if it must, the Anti Piste is the type of ski best reserved for pounding storm cycles and backcountry forays. This ski features pre-drilled binding inserts, which are similar to snowboard insert technology. The hole pattern is the same as the G3 Targa series, Black Diamond, Voile Hardwire bindings, and Rottefella Cobra R8 and R6 bindings. *Available for US shipment only.

Bottom Line: The Anti Piste serves a healthy dose of powder perfection.

Big Boards for Big Lines

By:

I demoed a 174 anti piste on a day with variable conditions. I found it to be a very nice ski. Quite heavy and stiff, but forgiving enough not to throw you off around. It really liked to ski fast and follow the fall line. Just point and go because this ski and burly enough to bust through anything and stay stable. Even on crusty ice this ski held an edge pretty well. It's shortfall would be short turns and bumps. I just found it a little hard to go edge to edge quickly. Probably due to the width under foot. Overall a very good ski. If like to ski big fast powder lines give this one a shot. At under $400 (sale price) you really can't go wrong here. Also, try the Black Diamond Verdict.

i have ridden these in a 174 all year and they are by far the BEST tele ski i have ever been on. they are freakin' amazing in the pow and not to bad on the groomers as long as you have a stiff boot and binding.

Great Skis for the Steep & Deep

By:

I am riding on 188cm and the first few months of this season has been great using them. Nothing compares when you hitting the freshies after a big dump. They hold their own on the packed powder as well.

K2 Anti Piste

By:
January 27, 2006

I skied on the Anti Piste for 3 days (two in the backcountry and one at a resort). I would love to get an Anti Piste for a quiver ski. In the powder it was one of the funnest skis I have ever tried. Off the powder I felt the ski was a bit too noodley and unresponsive. Even in the wind crusted powder or variable snow the ski didn't perform nearly as well as my Miras. It was also a tad heavy for long tours.
