I'm an intermediate skier seeking a versatile ski that I

I'm an intermediate skier seeking a versatile ski that I can use for resort skiing, floating off piste, and the occasional back country tour. Is this ski a good bet? Does it give decent performance in wet heavy spring snow? I am 6'4", about 195lbs, is the 181cm long enough? Also, if I mount these with Dynafit bindings-- would that be TOO lightweight for enjoying groomed slopes? If that's the case would something like the Marker Dukes be a better bet?

This has a pretty versatile flex, stiffer for hard carvers and crud, but not stiff enough to make them unwieldly in softer snow conditions. The 181 should be alright, not too short but not two long planks strapped to your feet. If you throw Dynafit bindings on these it will make a great touring set up, really lightweight. But this doesn't mean that it is too light for groomers. If you keep fairly aggressive, then the edge hold with be like any other set up. Dukes are great too, but the Dynafits would suit something like this a little better.

I got these and mounted a pair of marker duke AT bindings. i got these for skiing the white mountains back country and a bit of in bounds skiing as well. they are fully capable of plowing through all of the shenanigan snowpack we have in tuckerman ravine at half decent speed. having said that, they are plenty forgiving - the tips absorb most of the sloppy conditions we've had recently. on the other hand i'm able to lay 'em over almost as hard as i do my fischer gs ski without the tails fishing out on me. i haven't skiied them in powder yet so i cant comment on that, but i imagine they get the job done. they ski tight bumps just fine, and can really rip on hardpack. basically it does everything i would want it to do.

Yes, this does make an excellent telemark ski. K2s AT line shares all the same characteristics as there Tele skis but simply eliminate the pre-drill tele mount holes, enabling a more versatile AT mount. This ski is still reinforced for Tele mounting, so drill away.

skied these in the La Sals. varying conditions
a great great ski. on the up ski and riding 'em down.
smooth and confident pleasure. beautiful. stable. pow pretty too.
I don't have a preference for short skis. buy them full.
