If you're tired of boring, generic-style helmets, look to K2's low-profile, skate-inspired Rant Helmet. This brain bucket fits over your beanie and goggles for comfort and a unique look. An internal track keeps your goggle strap in place, and you can chose between different sized pads on the inside to get a snug, custom fit over your beanie. Basically, there's no chance your goggles will pop off, even if you start rag-dolling down the mountain. Always open vents keep you cool as you hit the pipe or tour in the backcountry. K2's removable ear liners are not only comfortable, but engineered for maximum sound transmission, so you can actually hear what your buddies are saying on the lift. The K2 Rant fits lower than most helmets, and the visor drops over your goggles for wind and weather protection. *K2 ACS audio system compatible.
Bottom Line: Both the park and the big mountain crowd will rave about the K2 Rant helmet.
i plan on ridin this with a beanie and gogglesdoes it look like a mushroom..you know...sticks up hella high and away from the head? or does it fit lowif it fits low without a beanie thats kool
Our second one, she outgrew the first. She loves the fact that your goggles fit UNDER the helmet for a clean, low look. Im happy because it protects her noggin. Cheers.
got the denim one and it looks really cool and had nice compliments from other skiers! the helmet is designed to fit over your goggles and my Oakleys fit perfectly, great value for the price!
I purchased the matte black version of this helmet and I have been told it look pretty cool. I wear it with smith prodigy goggles and the strap fits underneath the helmet comfortably due to the design of the protective foam inside. I haven't taken and falls with the helmet yet, but i be that if i do, there will be a nice bruise from the prodigy's clip at the back of my head. The only downside to the whole wearing the goggle strap inside the helmet part is that you really cannot take off your goggle without taking off your helmet. This is problematic to me because I teach skiing and I usually try to have my goggles off when I am introducing myself to students and at other times when I feel that I have something important that I should communicate. I usually unclip the helmet and move everything up on my head, but it still feels weird to me. I will concur with the "Not So Much" review in saying that this helmet moves around a little at first. But I moved the padding around so that now, it fits solid on my head. I haven't been skiing with it in really warm weather yet, but it doesn't have much ventilation. So I envision my head getting pretty warm this spring. I feel this is a problem with a lot of helmets until you get into the move expensive ones with huge adjustable vents. All in all though, a great inexpensive helmet that looks pretty cool and takes some time to get used to.
I picked this helmet up last year and at first I did not like it at all. it looks great, very unique style that I liked, but I could not dial the fit. I ended up switching back to my Giro and chucking this in the closet. Skip to this year, and I was going through my ski stuff, I found that with this helmet, when I wore it over a nice warm thick wool hat my mom made me for xmas (thanks mom!) the helmet fits perfect! I took out all the padding on the inside so there is just hard foam with some velcro tabs on it. These stick to my hat perfectly keeping the helmet in place. Much improved fit, the helmet doesnt bounce around, its great. I do leave it at home on powder days. Riding at Snowbird especially, it is a pain in the ass to have to take off your helmet to take your goggles off, and when you are going from outside to inside, it can be fog city. Other than that, I wear this helmet all the time.
can one get a goggles' strap support installed on this helmet? It is a great looking helmet and all, but useless without one. Goggles just slip off of it. Such a shame!..
You can buy a goggle strap with a rubber lining on the inside of the strap so it grips against the helmet and stays put. Another thing you could try is sticking a small strip of velcro on the back of your helmet. Then it will grab your strap and keep it from sliding up. Also, the helmet is meant to be worn OVER the goggles, it has a track inside of it to hold them in place.duderead the headingyou wear the goggles under the helmet...ever seen that?like...i do that...i p ut my goggles on..then helmet..then strap it upif you wear a beanie..u put your goggles over your beanie..then strap on the helmet...this is made large...like super large...to fit both gogles and beanie
got the denim one, looks super cool and have had great comments from others about it. love the retro skate look of it too! the helmet is designed to fit over your goggles and they fit mines perfectly. good value and looks cool :)
