K2 Kung Fujas Alpine Ski

Pep Fujas knows what it’s like to be a mountain monkey who just can’t pick between giant powder lines and terrain park tomfoolery. So he helped develop the K2 Kung Fujas Alpine Ski to follow in the footsteps of the old K2 Seth Pistols’ celebrated mid-fat twin-tip design. Click into the Kung Fujas and find out what all-mountain really means.

  • An easy flex, poppy feel, and torsional rigidity combine to let you charge from peak to park
  • Plenty of width and a mini 5 /30 rocker enhance the ski’s powder performance
  • Bi-directional taper and raised tail let you carve switch and spin like a mofo
  • A triaxial-braided solid fir core shows the crud who’s in charge

Bottom Line: Take your A game anywhere on the mountain with this true one-ski quiver.

How will these skis do on the groomers? Will the rocker make them unstable on the hardpack?

The rocker on these skis isn't that substantial. With only a 5/30, I don't see these being terribly squirley on all but the iciest of groomers. They are very similiar to the 07/08 rockered Seth, and that had great groomer railing potential... once you are up on edge the ski is decambered anyway, and the rocker is taken out of the equation...

Trying to decide between a pair of Afterbangs or these puppies,

Trying to decide between a pair of Afterbangs or these puppies, and I have several questions. First, do these have any camber underfoot? Do you guys have the version w/ the marker schizo insert, or do you just have the flat mount skis? Are these skis flexible enough to press and butter? I've been skiing 04 pocket rockets (90 mm underfoot) and love the surfy feel of wider skis, but sometimes the edges will wash out ripping GS turns on east coast ice-will the additional 5 mm underfoot make a big difference or possibly be even better due to better edges (pocket rockets have some dull a-- edges to begin with)? Will the mini rocker reduce the chances of catching an edge when landing spins? Will a 179 in these be any more or less maneuverable than my 175 pocket rockets (I imagine the wood core would make them snappier)? Has anyone heard anything about the marker schizo-good or bad-as they are a motivating factor in getting these? I realize that's a tall order, any info is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

1. Yes, camber underfoot. Rocker on tips and tails only.
2. No, we are not offering the pre-drilled. More options this way.
3. Yes, these are way nice for buttering. Mellow flex and rocker'd tips/tails beg for it.
4. Fresh edges, wood cores, sidewalls...you'll carve 'em.
5. Not sure if rocker helps/hurts landings. Skills and de-tuned edges will.
6. Sturdy cores and mellow rocker mean stable and nimble.
7. Not a bad word heard about Schizo binders. They're solid.

Im 5'6'' adn about 140, currently im skiing the 0607 fujatives, and so im looking for some new skis. I am pretty sure the Kung Fujas is the ski im looking for seeing how i need a ski that can do park, pow and piste. I cant decide whether to get the 169 or 179s, they will prolly be mounted at 1-2 back from core center

I would say this depends on whether you like your skis on the long side or not. K2's generally tend to run a few cm long so whichever size you choose the ski will actually be a few centimeters longer, for example, the 169's are probably more like 171-173. Hope this helps.

Im 5'11" and 168 bs. I would like the fujas as a park/BC Freestyle ski. I'm not really all that good at either one though... I'm a hard charger that wants to learn tricks and have more fun at lower speeds. I'f i bought these for allmountain I'd definetely go for the 189, but since K2s are heavy as hell I think perhaps the 179 might be the more playful option. I have considered getting the Obsethed in 179 instead of the fujas... Im a bit confused here. Help me out someone?

Well, actually I've bought the Obsethed now. I'd still like a park ski that'll cut it on pow. Since I've already got a >100 ski I'm now certain that I want a <100 ski. I've sorta made up my mind on the Fujas, but I'd like to know wich lenght I should go for...

(I got the Obsethed in 189. Wont regret it, itll be my playful charger)

personally I would recommend taking a look at the Armada JJ or Atomic Bentchetler, they come in chargable lenghts that are still light, and the atomic is super poppy and you can play around on the mountain tons, plus both are actually pretty damn good on the groomers... just my two cents.

I am interested in mounting tele bindings to these skis. Is there anything that would make this difficult...I read somewhere about inserts for Marker alpine bindings in these skis? Thanks.

We offer the flat versions of this ski. Specifically so that you can put whatever binders you want on them. You'll have no trouble with mounting them. I'd suggest demo-ing a ski with a rockered tail and tele binders before you buy though. The shorter contact area behind your heels may enhance the 'wash-out' feel that you sometimes get with this style ski.

Im 6-3 190 pounds and was wondering is people think the 179s or 189s would be better for my size. I live in australia but ultinate doing seasons in Vail and Chamonix, have skiied the obsetheds last year but they were a struggle back on aus. Also was going to fit them with Marke Duke bindings and was wondering if the extra height of an AT binding would make it easier to handle the width. cheers

I'd say go 189, you're a pretty big guy. I'm 5'7", 160 soaking wet and I'm on 175 ARVs and will be getting a pair of 181's. There's nothing worse than buying a new pair of skis, only to find them to be too short!

I ski in the east, and i want a ski that can shred pow, and handle big landings in the park. Im 5'8 150, and Im not sure what size id want. either the 169, or the 179. Im pretty sure I want these skis, Im just undecided on the size.

True, K2's run a little long, but the fujas are rockered, which will make them ski a little shorter. I say go with the 179, especially if you're gonna mount these toward core center. And btw, I'm also 5'8 and I got these in 179 and they're only about 2" taller than me barefoot.

The size for you would really be a tough call, because k2's run pretty long. The 169's would probably run about as tall as you, or a little shorter. The 179's would be above your head a good amount. I found from experience that k2's generally run around 3-4cm longer than printed. I think you'd be happy with both sizes, but I think the 169 will be enough ski for you. The 179 might just bog you down.

Yes, the Kung Fujas are meant to be a Backcountry jibber ski, so they have a little more flex than your average big mountain ripper. They aren't noodles, however, and can definitely handle big lines...
