Julbo Explorer Sunglasses - Alti Spectron 4 Lens

Julbo gave their high-tech Explorer Sunglasses incredible Alti Spectron 4 Lens that provide 95% visible light reduction to protect your eyes on high-altitude mountaineering trips. Take these Julbo glacier glasses to Rainier, Alaska, or even the Himalayas. Designed with help from Chamonix mountain guides, these glacier glasses features removable side shields and a wrap-around design that rivals the protection offered by goggles in high winds and blowing snow. The Explorer Sunglasses also include a removable stretch headband to keep them in place and let you drop them to your neck when you crawl into a tent. Julbo added frame vents to reduce fogging because you can't climb if you can't see.

Bottom Line: Take on the most demanding mountains in the world with the professionally designed Julbo Explorer Sunglasses protecting your eyes from the high-altitude sun.

The glass is hard. Just don't drag on the rocks & you'll be OK. Typical Julbo quality.

Hey Dave,The best thing to do is jump on "live chat" and ask those folks. They'll be able to look up if there are any on order, and if so they can give you an approximate arrival date.

Julbo Explorer Glasses

By:
August 18, 2008

When I received these glasses from Backcountry I noticed that there was some sort of reflection on the inside of the left lens. So I cleaned the lens but it was no better. I then called Julbo USA and ask if knew of any problems and to see if they could correct the issue. I was going to be traveling to the Atacama desert in Chile in just two days and needed a good pair of glasses.I had ordered the glasses from Backcountry and got them in just two days, thanks for the fast shipping. The guy at Julbo could not determine the problem by my explaination. So, he said he would send me a new pair next day shipping so I would have them before I left for Chile, and I could send the pair in question back when I returned from my trip. So the next day I got the glasses and they were perfect, no glare or reflection, and when I returned from my trip I sent the others back to Julbo. The UV is quite high there, we were working at 10,000 to 16,000 feet elevation in the desert and the glasses worked great, I was very glad I had them. I have a small face and they fit very well with the bendable ear hooks and they look cool too. I can not say enough about the exceptional customer service I got from Julbo. The glasses are great and Julbo's customer service should be the model for all companies. If you think these glasses are a little expensive don't, you are getting what you pay for, a great product from a great company

Just used these on my Kili climb and they worked very well. There is not a whole lot of white stuff up there unless you are planning to traverse the Heim glacier, so you could probably get by with a less expensive pair. I was very happy to have these and you will look cool in the photos.
