Julbo Bivouak Sunglasses

Don’t cross a glacier or ski over a powder field on a bluebird day without blocking snow glare from all angles. With their magnetic side shields, the Julbo Bivouak Sunglasses go above and beyond to protect your peepers from eye-damaging light reflection. The wide Spectron 4 lenses offer essential coverage whether you’re alpine climbing or fly fishing. For everyday use, the side panels easily detach.

Bottom Line: Say no to snow blindness.

Awesome

I purchased the white Bivuoaks with the zebra anti fog lens'....these things rock...they list as fitting medium size heads but I usually require large and these fit just fine....they are so comfortable i forget they are on my head....so far they haven't fogged up on me and with the wrap-around lens and the (detachable) side visors totally locks out the sun without cutting down on your vision...Awesome!!

An internet search for sunglasses that fit over prescription

An internet search for sunglasses that fit over prescription glasses has the Julbo Bivouak on the list, but there is nothing in the description of the sunglasses that indicates they will actually fit over regular glasses. What's true?

Julbo seems pretty proud of their "optical clip" system that allows some of their sun glasses to attach to your prescription lenses, so they mention it with all the glasses that are compatible on their website. Doesn't seem like the bivouaks are. The shape of these makes it seem unlikely that they would fit over most prescription frames without some kind of clip also.

Great

Definetely big guys' glasses. I am 6'4" and got a big head. Normally sunglasses look small on me, these fit. Initially I was a bit worried about the air slits on the outside edge of the lenses (not on zebra version but the camel version). I thought sunlight would get through and make it too bright. These slits are so tiny that there is no problem with sunlight. The side covers are perfect. No light comes through from the side. And they don't look as huge and stupid as those side covers on glacier glasses. The only negative is the way the cord is attached to the arms. Mine were delivered with the cord on and I have no idea how to get it off without breaking the clip.
