I've been looking at backpacks EVERYWHERE. Why don't any of the packs mention if they are waterproof? For week long backpacking I think this would be a key feature.

Do any Jansport packs have waterproof material?

They don't mention that they are waterproof because they aren't. Usually the waterproof bags are reserved for canoeing or kayaking, not so much hiking. Pack covers are like rain jackets for your pack, some packs come with integrated pack covers, others you have to buy separately.
