My son is 10 years old and needs a tramping pack for scouts, would this be a good option, he needs to be able to carry gear for about 3 days

That is like a week long to month pack. for 3-4 days look at something between 50-60L. If you loaded this pack up you might tip the lad over. Try asking the scout leader what size of pack most kids are using.

They sell this bag at the camping store I worked at. I heard some good feedback but 2 of the 3 of them were exclusive Jansport pack guys. Ive had decent success with Jansport packs in general
