If you normally feel like a sardine in a can when you sit in a kayak, try out the Ocean Kayak Big Yak Kayak. The Big Yak is a sit-on-top for larger paddlers. The Big Yak Kayak sits higher on the water and is a bit longer than a standard sit-on-top, so it easily supports a bigger paddler. Ocean Kayak gave this recreational kayak a comfortable seatback, so you can paddle for a few hours without getting uncomfortable. Enjoy day on a lake, river, or bay and bring along a little lunch—just strap it in with one of the gear straps. The molded-in cup holder lets you bring a beverage for the water.

My husband is interested as we have a place on a river cove, he is still trying to rehab shoulder after rotator cuff surgery (1.5 yrs ago) but he is 6'3" and 270 but very athletic - is this the right one for him?

I was considering this yak because I have 2 dogs that like to ride. This is the only yak that has a place in the front and back for each of them, plus will withstand the added weight. But after reading the opinions above, I am worried that it will be too hard for me to manuever...I'm in my late 40's and weight appr. 175 lbs. I like to move swiftly through the water...not necessarily fast, but I don't want to struggle either. I am a novice so know very little about kayaking....help!
