JanSport Equinox Backpack - 2100 cu in - 2007

The JanSport Equinox Backpack easily transitions from the trails to the streets and is large enough to hold a full day's worth of gear. This three-compartment chameleon of a backpack is technical enough for outdoor use and practical enough for use at work or school. The technical features of the Equinox include lashing straps for extra gear, a quick-stash pocket with daisy chain clip points, and compression straps to keep the load over your center of gravity. Some of the more practical features of the Equinox are the ergonomic S-curved shoulder straps, the inside organizer with nylon pouches and secure-close pockets, and the expandable mesh pockets that are perfect for quart-sized water bottles.

Bottom Line: The JanSport Equinox Backpack is as comfortable in the city as it is in the backcountry.

A must buy

I love this backpack. It is comfortable. It holds a lot of stuff. There are three compartments and each can hold what you need. I use this bag for work where I need to carry a full days worth of materials and I do a lot of walking. This bag has padding and does not feel heavy on my back. I would recommend this to anyone.

Great pack / great price.

I purchased this pack to replace a 12-year-old Jansport daypack that had seen better days. It’s used for wilderness XC skiing and so far I’m quite happy with it. It currently contains an extra base layer and shell layer (tops and bottom) in small compression sacks, a first aid kit, multi-tool, extra socks gloves and hat, a couple energy bars, two freeze dried entrees, an esbit stove, a camp cup and spoon, fire starting stuff, an emergency blanket, a small flashlight, a cell phone, a small radio, and maps. It holds all this gear with room to spare and goes totally unnoticed when on the move – no digging or binding and I’m VERY happy about that. The suspension system is substantial, well-padded, and fairly adjustable. My GPS clips easily to the outside as there are an adequate number of D-rings and fastening points. I haven’t had any problems with the zippers. My only complaint is that you can’t stand the pack on end when it’s loaded. This is a great pack for a great price.

What is the difference between this 2100 cu in Equinox and the 1850 cu in version other than size and price? Is one a newer model? Is that why the 2100 cu in version is actually cheaper?

Quite comfortable

Hi Guys,
I purchased this bag and I must admit it is one of the most comfortable bags I ever bought. It can hold alot and does not appear to be bulky. Even though it's loaded because of the padding you still feel comfortable. It's a great product.

It's just about perfect, but the zippers get hung up more than they should.
