When you go for a fall camping trip, take along the super warm Isis Women's Whisper Down Jacket. The summer crowds will be gone so you can enjoy nature on your own. This 650-fill goose down jacket holds in heat, and a DWR finish fights off light rain or snow. A velvet-lined collar keeps you irritation-free, and fleece-lined hand pockets warm your digits when the temperature drops. If you decide to hike into the backcountry for a night, just pack the Whisper into its included stuff sack.
Bottom Line: It'll be nice and quiet this fall so get out and enjoy it in the Isis Whisper Down Jacket.
It is wonderful and fits great. I live in Colorado and have found it to be plenty warm. It is a great layering piece under a soft shell parka as well because it is not bulky. I bought an isis whipser hodie and wanted this one without the hood so I could layer under shells and rain jackets if needed.
I needed a jacket that could keep me warm during my walks to work as well as during my more vigorous outdoor activities in the Colorado cold and this jacket hit the mark. I should have purchased a down jacket years ago! The isis jacket keeps you very warm when zipped up and it is not extremely bulky. The jacket is made for a bustier, less hippy person than me, but it still fits better than other jackets I've tried on. Also, the interior pattern design is very fun. I've noticed some loose thread strands, but none of the stitching appears to be coming loose. Overall, I would highly recommend this jacket.
Does this run true to size? I'm a buxom 8 and tried several isis winter jackets which seemed to run small. Also, what is the temperature range of this jacket? Does it "bleed" down???
I wasn't looking for too much warmth, since I don't live in the Arctic. I got the hooded version in the gorgeous storm color and it ran pretty true to size. It is perfect for everyday wear and I traded it for my North Face Aconcagua - even though the Aconcagua is a lighterweight North Face down jacket, it was still too warm for me. The fabric on the Isis is a bit flimsier, but I think it helps to keep it light. Better cut for the female body - less boxy - and the sleeves aren't so wide. Good overall length for tall girls too. BONUS - the inside has a great floral lining that will make you happy every time you put it on!

I loved everything about this jacket--the style, the fit, the attention to detail--but it didn't keep me warm. I wore it on a brisk three-mile walk with a fleece and a baselayer underneath when the temp was in the 40s and I was still chilly. Yes, I am one of those people who's cold most of the time but I don't think this jacket would serve the purpose of anyone who's looking to feel warm in winter. The down is quite thin even compared to other jackets in this category, such as the Marmot Venus jacket. Even though Isis doesn't have a zip-in system, this jacket did fit under the Shastina shell I also bought from Backcountry.
I was looking for a really puffy down jacket and this jacket was not it. It it a nice in town jacket. It looks good and feels good but it did not have enough "puff" for me.
I wanted a light weight jacket for walking dogs in weather down to 40 degrees that is also comfortable in the car, wearing into a store and packing in a small space. I also wanted motion flexibility. This jacket covers it all. I like the tail that dips a bit in the back to cover my kidneys which really helps with warmth. I'm a bit hippy and wish I had another inch in the bottom of the size 8. Sleeves are perfect and will pull down far enough to cover my hands when I don't want gloves.
