Skip the hassle of removing your front tire when you load your bike with the Inno Upright Bike Lock—just throw your bike on and go. This burly rack fits with square, round, and most factory crossbars. The super-stable upright mount fits up to 3.25-inch diameter bike frames and locks your bike down quickly and easily. The tire mountings fit tires up to 2.7 inches in width, and the anodized aluminum tray holds your ride solidly in place. The Upright Bike Lock even includes key locks.
Hello Backcountry people (^_^).I ordered this rack about a month ago and noticed there is some white buildup on the bolt threads of this mount. Should I put some grease on them to stop corrosion? Also, for people that are thinking about this rack, it is silver, not dark as the picture shows. Plus it doesn't come this the cross bars (at least mine did not).Other wise good mount. EDIT: Thanks Randy. I asked around and e-mailed several roof rack manufactures, most people say put "White Lithium Grease"(spray kind) on the exposed threads and inside the key lock area.
If the bolt is holding something together, grease may not be the best choice. And the grease has a knack for finding it's way to your clothes. I would opt for some appropriate colored rustoleum. Just get a little can and use a small brush and cover the part that looks corroded. You can try brushing off any loose particles with an old toothbrush (not the wife's) before you carefully apply the paint only where you need it.
Big fan of Inno racks so far. I also have the ski/board rack and love that. Just installed and took this out this morning. Mine was missing the installation instructions, but it was simple enough and took less than 20 minutes to install. Took it out on some rough roads and my bike was super solid in the rack. Don't buy a rack for the name. Thule and Yakima have some competition with Inno. I also really like they don't nickel and dime you for the locks - those should be included like they are on the Inno racks. Thumbs up!!!
The INNO bike racks will work great with your factory cross bars. Their universal mount allos you to mount to almost all cross bars and the rack includes locks
Alright, I feel like I had this rack long enough to leave a review. To answer some questions posted on here, here are a few things on the rack. The mounting system is incredibly versatile and fits almost any crossbars. But the rack does not include the cross bars. You will need to check out that manufacturer that you want to go with (Yakima or Thule being the most popular) to check to see what bars and q-clips are recommended for your vehicle. It's a simple online process of just selecting your car and then dishing out the money.. I haven't had any problems with corrosion yet, and it's been in the rain and ice quite a few times. It's pretty sturdy all in all. I haven't had a problem with the bikes swaying while driving around town, or on the interstate. But it seems like the center of gravity is pretty high when you put a 21 inch mountain bike on it, which decreases the sturdiness a bit. The installation is simple but it got the four stars because if you want to take it off, you have to undo the allen screws completely. There is not a quick way to take it off and put it on, which is a downside if you want to switch to your kayak rollers quick before a trip. A more secure locking mechanism to your cross bars would be nice, so you don't have to worry about a tray disappearing off your car at the trail head. All in all, I'm happy with the trays and would recommend them because of how easy they are to get your bike on and off quickly without having to remove the tires.
The bike rack will fit almost all cross bars I would suggest contact INNO at support@innoracks.com to get a base rack as you will not have to pay for extra parts like keys and locks. INNO includes everything.
I'm pretty sure that the cross bars are not part of bike rack. Check out Yakima or Thule's websites to find what towers, clips and cross bars you need to fit your Honda Accord. Then buy this bike rack to accessorize your car rack and mount up your bike.
I mounted this carrier on my '05 Honda CR-V with factory roof rack, and it's working out just fine. Easy installation, and easy to place the bike in the trays, clamp the lock; easy adjustment of the wheel trays, and wheel straps. Even has a cable and keyed lock that can be used with the bike on the rack or when off, for when I want to secure the carrier.
Inno is a company that makes a mount to fit most every style of crossbar. The Inno fit guide says "Mounts to square, round & most factory crossbars" I have an Inno cargo box mounted to my '09 WRX with factory crossbars. Keep in mind these are a new style of crossbars so Inno has created a mounting system that is versatile and accommodating.
This rack is very vesitle for many different types of bikes and many different crossbar types. Unlike Yakima racks the inno comes with the mounting brackets to mount the trays onto most any cross bar without having to purchase extra parts. I have three different bikes, a steel fixed gear, a 21" mountain bike, and a 20" BMX bike. The tire holders easily adjust to fit all the bikes securely and the downtube clamp is adjustable enough to securely grip the less than 1" downtube of the fixed gear and the 2.5" downtube of the mountain bike. On the box the specifications list that the rack is compatible for down tubes from 22-85 mm in diameter and tires ranging from 20-28". My only complaint is that the box lists the maximum weight limit per unit at 33 lbs, which is less than the average weight of a downhill moutain bike. And the the box lists the max tire width at 2.5 inches not the 2.7 listed in the product description. Overall the racks versitility, stability and value make it a much better choice than other similar thule and yakima products.
Is this only for the rail thats holding the bike? or is this including the 2 bar thats clamping on my car roof.By the way my car is 07 Honda Civic without factory crossbar.
Wait on that one... That's not true. The rack does not come with all you see above. The cross bars are not included, and they show those (the bars running parallel) in the photo. What you get is the bike tray itself that connects to the cross bars.---------------------------That is correct, sorry if I steered you wrong Richard. Thanks for the help Schott-------------------------------This is TheBugMan. Mine only came with bike tray/mount and not the cross bars. Also, mine was silver, not dark as the picture shows.
