Sure, some polyester underwear wicks, but the polyester also retains odor—sometimes even after you wash it. The Icebreaker Women’s Nature Hot Pant Underwear naturally manges moisture and block odors. Since feeling sexy often starts with your undies, Icebreaker made the Nature Hot Pants with a low cut in front and back. The ultralight merino wool fabric feels smooth and soft, and side paneling matches some of Icebreaker’s tanks (sold separately).
It's freezing out here. I'm so glad to have these. Don't expect them to fit like bikini or even hipsters. They are *supposed* to go down your leg a bit, they're hot pants. I think they're pretty true to measurements -- I take XL in everything else Icebreaker, but my hips are proportionately smaller than my waist, so I take a L in these and could probably go with a M safely. Because I'm not what you'd call svelte, they're not the most flattering undies I've ever worn (they dip down a bit too far in front for my tummy pooch to be anything but obvious), but they're warm and they're comfy. Which was why I got them in the first place! If I want to feel a bit more stylish in the undies dept., I wear the hipsters.
They look good and are very soft. Not itching. I wore them hiking and climbing and they did not ride up. The size is on the large side (I usually wear XS but wish there is XXS) and the rise is a big too high for me, although it does help keep my lower back dry.
I wouldn't machine dry them. Tumble dry is probably the most damaging thing you can do to any clothes. Wool is the case in particular. I'd hang / lay flat to dry them.
Yes - all of icebreaker's clothing is machine washable. I have a couple pairs of the boy shorts & merino shirts and I throw them in the washer on the delicate setting (no hot water!) and toss 'em in the dryer on a low setting. I haven't had any shrinkage problems. You can always lay them flat to dry too.
I think the Nov 9 reviewer was way too harsh on these undies.. I ordered my normal size and they fit great. Design on the side is cute. Only complaint is that I don't love the backside view of the hot pant on me cuz they look more like regular undies (but that could just be my backside's fault lol). These are great under ski pants and jeans in the winter.
do you like diapers? if u do this is it for you! if not dont bother, they ride up they bunch up, they feel like 4 x the right amount of cloth needed was taken to produce them. have a nice day.
I thought the fit was great. Seems true to size to me. The bonus is that they don't get clammy when wet or sweaty, nor do they get stinky like my polyester underwear.
