Icebreaker BodyFit200 Boxer w/Fly - Men's

Wool boxer shorts? You better believe it. The Icebreaker Men's BodyFit200 Boxer With Fly gives you all the benefits of merino wool minus the itch. With its 200g-merino wool, these boxers resist odor, breathe like no other, and are so lightweight you'll hardly notice you're wearing them. The Men's Boxer With Fly has a soft elastic waistband and a gusseted crotch for comfort. Icebreaker eliminated the back and side seams to cut down on chafing, which makes these boxers great for workouts, the trail, or everyday.

Bottom Line: The 100% merino wool Icebreaker Boxers will make you a believer.

Beware if you loved last year's Icebreaker wool boxers

By:
August 30, 2007

Unfortunately this year's Icebreaker wool boxers have some changes for the worse: a far less comfortable elastic band around the top (once soft, now stiff), an awkward fit (less supportive), and a larger number of (uncomfortable and unnecessary) tags.
They are still made of the same highly functional merino wool, however. For those who have never tried wool boxers, they are soft, grow softer with every washing, can't be dried in the drier but dry overnight, don't generate static electricity, and are equally comfortable under running tights, jeans, or even dress clothes.

Waste of hard earned cash

By:
March 17, 2009

They have made changes in these for the worse and not fixed the problems.

The rise of icebreaker boxers and leggings is really high...like "mom" pants up to your bellly button high. They stick out of most jeans by a good inch.

The waistband has changed to a hard, plastic-like and stiff material. The old waistband was much more comfortable yet it stretched out easily.

The durability is poor as well. Unraveled seams and holes worn in is common.

While its not a big deal and I cut them out, putting in 4 tags in a pair of boxers is a bit weird as well.

Icebreaker charges way too much for the quality and feature set.

I am done with icebreaker.

The 200s and 150s differ only in two ways. First the material weight obviously. Second the 200s have a 9cm inseam and the 150s have a 7cm inseam. Every other dimension and fit is the same.

Comfortable

By:
March 5, 2009

Very comfortable, minimal shrinkage after 2 washings, plenty of room...only gripe is the two tags on the seams...itches the cheeks. Why would you design these great base layers with these drawbacks?

These are very comfortable, minimal shrinkage after 2 washings and plenty of "room". Only drawback is all of the tags...there are two on the seams that right on the cheeks and itch...I don't see any reason for the tags.

9cm (3.5in) for the 200 wt......and 7cm (3in) for the 150 wt. The 200s and 150s are exactly the same except for the material weight and inseam as noted.

Great underwear

By:
February 24, 2009

Got two of them and they are great, Will take them for a week-long backcountry trip in northern Sweden in Mars, cold and windy weather. However, so far so good, can strongly recommend them.

solidly mid-range

in terms of price, not in the lofty neighborhood of Ibex or SmartWool, but nearly as well made as the aforementioned.

Quality material - Odd fit

By:
March 2, 2009

As others have noted, they ride a little high. Also the elastic band bends in the middle in an odd sort of way. IF they weren't made of super nice merino...

Icebreaker BodyFit200 Boxer - Men's

By:
April 11, 2008

Just got back from a week-long sea kayaking expedition in the Everglades. I wore these boxer briefs for the duration of our trip (occasionally rinsing them in the ocean) and they didn't stink one bit! They did a great job wicking sweat away and didn't really get too hot despite the fact that my lower body was in the kayak with a spray skirt. Hope this helps!

NOW we're talking!

By:
October 24, 2008

OK, so to retort my own critical review ("Grandma's bloomers"), these are the business. Turns out Backcountry must have messed up the sizing chart -- I looked on Icebreaker's website & they had a much more reasonable & normal sizing chart. It says L is my size; no kidding. So I re-order them in L and whaddaya know, they fit like a glove, or, some other thing that also fits closely down there. Yeah, these boxer-briefs are awesome. Get some. You'll understand. Can I give these 6 out of 5?

great underwear

By:
May 29, 2008

Great underwear, if they' only move that tag on the inner seam or use some other material. great for traveling. Wash it and hang it out to dry. Usually dries in a day.

Grandma's bloomers

By:
October 17, 2008

What is with the sizing? I have a 36-37" waist and normally take like a L in underwear. The guide here says that a 33" waist is a XXL. And that's as big as they go. Say what?!?!

I put them on and the waist is a little snug, but the rest of the brief fits like pantaloons. I feel like a darn pirate. Arrr!

The photos here show the briefs as being snug fitting, well for that to happen, the model / mannequin must be getting cut clean in half by the waist band.

I have a drawer-full of Icebreaker shirts, which are wonderful. What's up with the fit of these things?

Best underwear for travel

By:
January 7, 2008

Best underwear for travel, doesn't itch. Maybe I got last year model, looking at previous review, so it's hard to tell, but mine hold pretty well so far, no tag itching, doesn't climb in your crotch, doesn't SMELL, but you still will have to change sometimes.

Everything I was hoping they would be!

By:
December 21, 2008

Great Fit and extremely comfortable. I also have the bodyfit 150 and like the bodyfit 200 even better! Worth the money as they last forever! Don't pay any attention to the Icebreaker size chart. Its wrong.

Great smell tolerance need better fit

By:
August 4, 2008

Just recently got introduced to ice breaker stuff.. it's awesome.. dries fast.. and retains very little smell. This underwear is great in those respects too. However, for athletic stuff, I thought the fit could be a bit more snug. But still a great product.

Icebreaker Boxers

By: Backcountry.com Employee
January 27, 2009

I picked up a pair to test out and I love them. I bought the mediums and they fit perfectly. These boxers are not loose fitting, however they do allow for free movement. I've worn them running, ski touring (including some steep uphills, when the boxers didn't impede movement). I've also worn them as daily boxers and they've performed all tasks with no complaints.
