Ibex Zepher II Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Don’t let winter stop you from doing what you love—throw on the Ibex Men’s Zepher Long-Sleeve Crew and keep getting out there. An ideal base layer, the Ibex Zepher Crew is made from all-natural merino wool. It pulls moisture away from the skin before it has a chance to chill you during those winter runs and repels odors no matter how gnarly those runs become. Layer this Ibex shirt for a day of skiing and enjoy its anti-drab color pattern when you’re relaxing in the lodge that night.

Bottom Line: Not your father’s undershirt.

More Itchy Than Hoped For

Compared to similar Icebreaker tops this one scratches me the wrong way. The styling is very nice, but in order to wear it I would need to have some kind of undershirt. Not sure it is worth the money and it may be going back.

Should I wash this shirt before taking it on a 5 day hiking trip, or just put it on and go?

just put it on and go, washing clothes breaks them down more than wearing them in most situations. you might need to wash it when you get back but wool does a pretty good job of not picking up odor. no need to wash it more than necessary. have fun

Nice undershirt, even works as a shirt

Seems to work well. Sizes run small in the shoulders. Initial slight itchiness; I have other merino garments that are much softer. This is certainly expensive for what you get.

great shirt

So, after a 5 day hike in New Mexico last June, I have to say that this shirt is pretty nice. I pretty much wore it the whole time. It regulates body temp really well and I stayed really comfortable in it on chilly nights (it was right around freezing) in a 20 degree sleeping bag, and most of the time during the day, unless it just got too hot. On our way out, we stopped to have dinner at probably the best Mexican food place anywhere on earth, and I have to say that I smelled way better than any of my friends.
I could see how some pansy person might think that it's itchy, or whatever, but I have somewhat sensitive skin and it feels just fine to me. It feels like soft wool is supposed to feel like.
I give it a diggity-dank!
