Icebreaker BodyFit260 Long Sleeve Crew - Men's - 2006
The Icebreaker Men's BodyFit260 Long-Sleeve Crew offers some two-toned style to your base layers, not to mention it's made of 100% merino, the best natural fiber for temperature regulation in the world. Merino wool has some incredible advantages over synthetic fabrics: retains heat even when wet, doesn't hold odors like synthetics, offers expedition-weight warmth at half the bulk, and rivals many synthetics in breathability. Wear the Icebreaker Crew as a base layer when skiing or as a shirt for cool fall and spring activities. Make no mistake, merino is not the wool you think you know—it lacks that trademark scratchiness.
Bottom Line: Merino knows what will make you comfortable.
I had to try wool because I stink. And this stuff didn't stink after a week of backcountry touring this stuff didn't stink. It wasn't scratchy like a wool sweater. And it didn't stink. I take this piece when I travel now because I can hang it outside to air out and then wear it the next day. IT DOESN'T STINK!! Finally.
I wore it for a week straight skiing daily without washing. It was very warm; in 23-30 weather wore with just a softshell and was warm enough. I never got wet with sweat. Its well worth the price. You only need one.
I live in merino shirts from September through April. I own shirts from just about every merino apparel maker. Hands down, the two Kiwi companies (Icebreaker and Survival) have the highest quality. Everything from the fabric, workmanship and styling is grade A.
The Icebreaker Bodyfit line are some of my favorites. It just seems to be the perfect weight (thicker than a standard t-shirt, but not as thick as a sweatshirt) and it's soft and warm all winter long.
One caution about all the "no stink" babble I hear regarding Merino. It's true that it will not create the wrank BO smells that many synthetics are guilty of, BUT if you sweat hard in one or get it wet, you will get that wet wool smell that is not too pleasing. The good thing though is that as soon as the garment dries, the smell goes away.
I bought this item for my father in Santa Fe, to introduce him to Icebreaker. We live in Wellington, New Zealand, and are friends with the owners of Icebreaker, who live and work here. We have several pieces of their gear and have become great believers in the versatility and comfort of merino wool, specifically the blends and fabrics made famous by Icebreaker. My fragrant husband can wear his jerseys for days and they don't smell. That alone would do it for me!
My husband got this shirt for Christmas and it instantly became a favorite. Soft, lightweight and excellent for layering, it's also attractive and is frequently warn alone.
This was my first piece of layering from Icebreakers, and after using it for a few days on the slopes, I have been overly impressed with its warmth, odor resistance, comfort, and flexibility. This is quality stuff. I am definitely encouraged to buy more.
Got one of these bad boys about 5 months ago, and it's still keeping me warm! I was a bit weary about dropping so much money on a "shirt" but it does everything it claims to do. I'm in Alaska right now and plan on getting some of the heavier stuff to see if it will stand up to the -50 temps we get here.
My husband is an avid snowboarder and heard that Icebreaker thermals were amazing. They certainly are. He keeps warm and dry all day without accumulating any stink. In his own words, he is "as warm as a sheep, but doesn't smell like one."
We went over night camping the other day (jan, 2007) and I just grabbed a bunch of stuff and put it all in a bag. When we got there it was cold and frigid, and I grabbed this shirt out of my bag, pulled on my fleece and boom - I was as warm as could be! I loved it! I ended up wearing it for the rest of the weekend. That same night that we got home I remembered that I had a date, so I grabbed my trusty IceBreaker shirt threw on some cologne, and once again I was back in the game styling as ever. Needless to say its warm, its stylin, and it doesn't stink! What more can I say?
Icebreaker is the best clothing around. I bought my first piece in New Zealand. It is the greatest clothing to ride all day in and go to the bar in. I wore mine for over a week and it didn't really smell.
My husband is biking to work in the cold Chicago winter, so I had to get him something warm but breathable. I can't have him being the stinky guy at work! This shirt is AWESOME. worth every penny! 1 shirt will last all week before i have to wash it - crazy!
This was one of my first wool purchases after using polypro baselayers for as long as I can remember. It is very warm, keeps my dry, and definitely smells better than my old shirts!
I've had this shirt for 2 days, worked out in it both days, and have worn it constantly. Very impressed that it does not hold body odor. It is a little more itchy than I expected - maybe a good washing will make it less itchy. But why would I want to wash it? It doesn't stink at all :)
I've fallen in love with merino wool, and the Icebreaker Bodyfit Long Sleeve is my lover. Not only does this thing keep me warm in every condition I've thrown at it, but it adjusts to my body temperature. If I'm cold it warms me up. If I'm warm it breathes and cools me down. Plus it never stinks!...and I'm the stinky kid. I've stopped showering and just cover myself in merino. My life is now complete. Thank you Icebreaker!
