If you've had your fill of protein bars that taste a little too much like mud, Honey Stinger's Protein Bars will be a welcomed change. Honey Stinger made these delicious bars from 30% organic honey, which not only tastes great, it naturally boosts energy. These bars are gluten-free, contain no trans fats, and give you 20% of the daily recommended allowance of proteins. Replace lunch with one of these tasty bars and rest assured you're getting the vitamins, minerals, and protein you need—without the excess fat and empty calories. These snacks come in packs of 12, so you'll have two weeks' worth of lunches ready to go.
Bottom Line: Many have claimed that Honey Stinger's Protein Bars are the best-tasting out there. See for yourself.
I just bought a box of the dark chocolate cherry almond flavor, and it's definitely the best protein bar I've ever tried. Nice to have something natural with that much protein in it. Awesome for a quick meal in the morning or after a long bike ride. can't wait to try the other flavors.
yeah it depends on the use really. the longer you are out the more fat is needed obviously. there aren't any trans fats, which is great. but there is 6g of saturated fats.
A good energy bar will be high in fat. Fat is essential to fueling long duration workouts because its incredibly high calorie density makes it one of the the most efficient ways to provide energy to the body.
the Dark Chocolate Coconut flavor is by far my favorite. Before trying Honey Stinger's protein bar I tried the Powerbar version--eating that was like being on Fear Factor, you shouldn't be wincing and grimacing when you're trying to load up on energy before a big day. Not so with the Honey Stinger bar, I ate one a bit before my last half marathon not only was it stable energy that didn't upset my system, it was not only NOT a chore to eat, but felt like eating a big tasty Mounds bar. At 20g of protein is a good chunk of what you need in a day, and that 230mg of potassium is super too. Eat these for big activities, or even as a replacement for breakfast. The "Bottom Line" is right on, the are the best tasting out there.
Totally agree with Mikeyboy...I've tried a ton of protein bars and none have the good stuff that the Honey Stinger bars have in them and taste good too. These really do taste like a candy bar you can feel good about eating and are great for any activity. I actually cut them in pieces for long bike rides.
It's almost hard to believe these are packed with 20g protein and still taste so great! Seriously, they're like a candy bar and don't have any chalky texture. Peanut butter and cherry chocolate almond are my favorite.
I have had all 3 flavors of the protein bars. All of them taste really good, not like a normal protein bar. These are perfect for a recovery snack or a meal replacement. My teammate Frank lies to eat them with his coffee every morning.
I've been a professional athlete since 1993 and have seen the evolution of the energy bar market. Have probably tried 20 or 30 different brands and 3 or 4 different flavors from each one. Basically, around 100 different bars. Even made several of my own. My search is over and the Honey Stinger Protein Bars have me hooked for life. Favorite is the Dark Choc. Cherry Almond. Heck, I even lick the inside of the wrapper. Now, if I could just break into the factory and steal their secret so I could make my own. Hmmmm....
The perfect recovery product. Great mix of carbs/protein for post-workout recovery and pre-workout fueling. Cherry almond rocks. All natural energy source and organic ingredients are not only healthier than most other bars, but they also provide steady, consistent sugar levels. Use in combination w/ chews before and during long workouts and after every long or hard workout.
I am not a big fan of protein bars, but these are pretty tasty. Not too chalky. They are covered in chocolate that can melt. But they remind me of a 3 Musketeers bar, just not so sweet.
I am sold on Honey Stinger protein bars for long rides. I ate a couple of bars during a recent 100 mile mtb race and they helped give me the energy to finish the race strong. They provided the calories I needed and I think the protein helped over that long of a race. They also taste great (dark chocolate coconut almond is my favorite) and are pretty easy to get down.
as a long time honey stinger lover, i have to say that the protein bars are the highlight of the lineup.
i use their gels and chews for food (while drinking nuun for my electrolytes) on long rides, but when things get really long, the protein bars are the bomb!
why? well, unlike some other protein bars that have the texture of sludge over rocks, these bars have a FANTASTIC taste. the whey protein is in a nougaty mix in the middle...like a 3 musketeers bar, but more awesome!
it tastes fantastic, goes down easy, and the real cherries, almonds, and coconuts make me feel like i'm eating a delectable confection, not a protein bar.
These bars are great, they taste amazing and do not sit in your stomach like a brick as several other bars out there seem to feel like after you eat. I think the peanut butter bar is the best tasting protein bar out there.
I love the cherry almond flavor. They get hard to eat after about half the bar. The taste is good but it is pretty dense. The chocolate coating is the best part though. If the bar was half as think they would be a lot better. They freeze pretty solid in the winter so keep them close to your body if your planning on biting into them so you don't brake your teeth. in the summer they turn in to a gooey melty mess.
Content-wise, a good bar. The peanut butter flavor is a little sweet - tastes a lot like a candy bar relative to other protein bars I've had. The chocolate coating is super soft, melts way too easily and even flakes off when you open the package. By the time I get to work after my swim, I've got specs of chocolate all over my shirt and pants.
