Well worth the money!

I bought these Hestra Heli Mitt for me (and the gloves version for my husband). We tried it on our latest ski trip in PA. Both are THE BEST pairs we've own (and we've own many over the years).

I skied day and night. Normally, my fingers would be cold after a short time regardless of the types/brands of gloves or mitts that I use. With the Hestra Heli, my fingers were toasty warm all day! I am very pleased with the purchase.

The quality of the mitt is also excellent. The soft thick removable lining makes for easy cleaning. The leather is also very soft. A small pack of leather conditioner is provided with the mitt.

The mitts are worth every penny. Shipping was also very FAST!

I'm considering these mitts but I'm hesitating between

I'm considering these mitts but I'm hesitating between the men's and the women's version (color not being an issue); got a couple of questions:

- is the tether system (wrist strap) that's shown in the pics of the men's mitts also present on the women's version?
- fit wise, what's the difference between the two? (Has anyone ever tried on both versions in the same size?
- size wise, how baggy do they run? I'm between sizes, should I up- or downsize?

I'm a guy. I bought these for my girlfriend for Christmas. Just want to get that out of the way.

She was really wanting some nice ski gloves because her hands would freeze all the time. In addition to that, she has Raynaud's Disease, which basically means her fingers are extremely susceptible to cold conditions. You can look it up on Wikipedia if you want. She really NEEDED some nice gloves, although she didn't realize exactly what a "nice" glove/mitten entailed until she used these for the first time.

We went skiing (day and night) on a really cold, snowy, windy day in NY a couple of weeks ago. When we were done, she said that this was the first time in her entire life that she's been skiing and her hands didn't get cold. Usually we have to stop at the lodge for 20 minutes every 2 hours so her hands can warm up, which we didn't do once. THAT is the difference a nice pair of mitts like these can make.

The liner on the inside is a very soft mitten (not separate fingers) that velcros into the shell of the glove. It is removable, so when you're done for the day, you can take out the liner to dry (if it's wet). The shell is an extremely lush leather (palm), and they include a packet of leather conditioner with the glove, presumably to be used every time the winter season ends.

Obviously, high marks from me for these. I also own a pair of Hestra gloves for myself, which are outstanding. Great company.
