Hestra Fall Line Glove

Designed and tested by top freeskiers like Henrik Windstedt, the Hestra Fall Line Glove gives you performance, warmth, and weather resistance without the bulk. Hestra's smart design and details ensure you won't have to buy a new pair of gloves next season. Back-of-the-glove Cordura stretches for ease of movement but retains the durability you depend on for season after season of use. The short neoprene cuff protects from snow without adding extra fabric where it's not needed. Hestra eliminated seams in areas that wear out most quickly, so holes aren't an issue. Durable cowhide leather palms won't get shredded when you're feeling lazy and take the tow-rope.

Bottom Line: The durable Hestra Fall Line gloves add warmth without bulk.

Good mid weight glove

This is a great in-between glove...by that I mean its great for more mild conditions. When its real cold out you probably need something warmer and in the spring you will want something even lighter but I find myself riding in these gloves more often than you think. They fit well, are real comfortable and they're not bulky at all.

Hestra makes the very best

By:

Nice tight fit, quality workmanship. These are called the "Dexterity" glove in Europe and, after wearing them, I see why. Never have to take off the gloves when adjusting a buckle or setting up the camera for a shot. This is my second pair. Cheers.

Hey Alec, I honestly don't know why they are called "Fall Line" as they are perfect all-weather, all-condition gloves. Prior to buying them, I assumed they'd only be good for the spring but they turned out to be my favorite gloves that I used for everything -- from winter camping in the backcountry to snowmobiling. I love to try new gear so I rarely replace jackets, gloves, etc. with the same product. Unfortunately, I lost one of my Hestra FL gloves this winter -- there was no question about replacing them; I had to get a new pair exactly like them. They may be a little too warm if the temps get above freezing but, otherwise; don't hesitate to buy these or, for that matter, any Hestra product. They are worth every dime! Hope my untimely answer helps.

Like a Natural Extension of Your Bovine

By:

I fully expect to still be wearing these gloves in 30 + years -- making the cost, on an annualized basis, just $1.67/year. Much less than a pack of Lucky Strikes. With a stylish two-tone leather construction, I also expect them to take on a nice patina over time; a functional reminder of all the chutes, hucks, and travels I've experienced over time. Seriously, these gloves rock! They breath well and retain natural body heat. What more can you ask from a glove? The Fall Line's short under-the-sleeve elastic cuff and minimalist design will sell you on the idea that good handwear doesn't need to be bulky and should never involve battery packs. I'm convinced that Hestra has fully mastered the art of glove making during the company's 70 year history. In my granddaddy's words, those are some "handsome" work gloves. WTF?

Order a Size up

By:
March 6, 2008

The bottom line is that these gloves are fantastic. They are warm, durable, and provide an amazing ammount of dexterity. Really, there isn't much more that you could ask for in a glove. Two things to watch out for though: First, order a size up. According to their mesurments I should be between a 7 and 8, but a 9 fits much more comfortably. This is my second pair of hestras and the same was true with my first. Also, be sure to use the leather balm often, if you don't they will loose their waterproofing and get soaked. Enjoy.

Wicked Gloves

By:
March 31, 2008

I just got back from 4 solid days of powder skiing in Jackson Hole. These gloves exceeded my expectations by a long shot. They get soaking wet on the outside but the inside still stays warm and dry even in 50 mph 20 degree windy conditions up top. The fit is rather small though so be warned. I measured 8.5 inches around my hand and the 9 feels a bit tight but it definitely wore-in this past week. I definitely recommend these!

very happy

By:
February 26, 2008

I've wore these glove's a couple of times including a rainy/wet day in Tahoe and 15 degre day and they ket my hands warm and dry in both conditions. Highly suggest using the Hestra leather balm, be aware that this will darken the color of the bronco/natural gloves. I kinda think they look a little better though. And yes they are very comfortable.

Terrific gloves!

By:
March 20, 2008

These are the most comfortable gloves I have owned, period! I haven't had the chance to try them in really cold weather but so far I've been satisfied with their warmth. The leather and construction allows a suppleness unsurpassed. I can turn the tiny volume knob on the car radio, pick up coins, and comfortably drink a cup of coffee with them on.
The only caution I would advise is to try them on in a retail outlet first because of small size gradations. I ordered a size "9" (Large) which was too small and had to send them back for a size "10" (also Large).

Great Gloves

By:
July 7, 2008

I fly an open cockpit ultralight trike and the gloves are everything I wanted. I ordered a pair for myself and liked them so much I bought a pair for my friend who is also a flyer. I did the measurement as instructed and got 7.5 inches. I sized up to a 9 but they were still too small. Size 10 fit perfect and I got size 11 for my friend and that worked out well. If the glove is just a little tight the lining will pack down and the leather will stretch. So wear them a couple of hours before you decide to send them back for a larger pair. I'm telling you folks I can work the buttons on my cell phone and my radios easily. Best gloves I've ever owned. Be careful when you put the Hestra cream on the gloves. The material on the back to protect the knuckles will bleed into the red.

Perfection

By:
January 2, 2009

I have had these for about a year now and they are stellar! I used them in all weather and they've held up great. The glove is well made and durable and should last a long time. Chaulk another one for Hestra - well done!

Great Fit, But...

By:
February 10, 2009

the fit is incredible. But they do not stand up to abuse. Seams on the right glove have frayed increasingly, and the palm doesn't stand up to the abuse of carrying skis with sharp edges over time. Also, they are not the best choice for days under 10 deg F. A good glove for the weekend warrior/on-piste all-around glove.

Awesome Golves

By:
January 8, 2009

I have tried on all the Hestras and these were by far the most comfortable and dexterous. Been wearing them everyday this season between -5 and 40 degrees. They are a little chilly under 10 degrees but that's expected. I can't recommend these enough.

Solid gloves

By:
October 30, 2008

I've been using these for over a year, rock solid gloves & much warmer than a normal spring glove. I ended up using these in really cold, under 10 degree weather just because they're so much more dextrous than my heavy duty winter gloves. Held up fine, plenty warm, great for the skin up as well as the way down. These are also pretty waterproof if you treat the leather...if not they'll soak water up like a sponge.

Great Gloves

By:
March 24, 2008

Nice snug fit. These are going to make great Spring gloves. Remains to be seen how durable the palms are going to be as they've already gotten sort of scuffed up after only five or six days of use on the hill. However, they're comfortable, have been surprisingly H20 resistant, and have done exactly what I bought them for so far.

a little on the cold side

By:
January 7, 2009

this is a great cool looking all weather glove. But its not as warm as other gloves ive had. Something else to note is the neoprene cuffs keep snow out, but arnt really compatible with a watch.

Hmm..

By:
January 26, 2009

My experience with these gloves are somewhat ambivalent. The fit and feel is perfect, the durability a big disappointment. I have used them for one season of skiing, about 30 days worth, and the seam on the side of the index finger have come completely undone. Also the leather on this finger as well as many ofe the others are frayed and worn down. I have been using the gel or what ever it is that Hestra produces on the gloves frequently. Franly I have to say that I had expected to have these 110$ leather gloves for years to come, so I'm quite dissapointed. What makes mathers worse is that i received these gloves as a compensation for another pair of Hestra gloves where one of the seams in the palm of the glove came undone after about a week of wearing them in town. As I said, I love the feel and fit, and they are just right in terms of warmth; not to cold and not to warm. To bad they are not very durable
