Grandoe Logan Mountaineering Glove - Men's

Your next technical alpine expedition demands the warmth, dexterity, and ample coverage of the Grandoe Logan Gore-Tex Mountaineering Gloves. These flexible, form-fitting gloves provide the crucial blend of hand insulation and sensitive feel that you need when placing protection, pitching your bivy, or doing any of the millions of simple tasks that become impossibly complex at altitude. Grandoe's patented tri-level, six zone insulation under a breathable Gore-Tex insert maximizes the Logan Gloves' warmth and water resistance without feeling bulky, and a generous gauntlet ensures a total seal against wind and spindrift.

Bottom Line: These Grandoe gauntlets bring the toughest winter ascents within your grasp.

I have hands that are cold all the time while skiing, especially powder and backcountry. I was wondering if anyone knew what the warmest ski gloves available would be. The two options i was looking at were Outdoor Research's Primo Gloves and these Grandoe Logan Mountaineering gloves. Thanks.

How should these fit? I am not going to be doing any extreme

How should these fit? I am not going to be doing any extreme summiting so doubtful iI will need to layer, but if I use these alone, should these fit fairly close to my hands or should there be some space at fingertips (I am kind of between a Med and Large)? Thx for any insights.

On these gloves particularly I would go with a large for sure. They fit great, but they'll always fit just a bit loose. These gloves are a work of art!!! When I first got them I was worried that I'd destroy the leather. The palms feel really durable but the rest of the leather is insanely soft. I was worrying for nothing. These gloves are really, really durable. You'll love 'em!

Wicked Cool Gloves!

These gloves are amazing! I'm always a huge fan of leather gloves and Grandoe has added the best leather in the perfect places. Very soft leather on the sides and top of the fingers and a little more durable leather on the palm and pads of the fingers. They're insanely warm, and this is coming from someone with horrible circulation in his hands from too many episodes of freezing temps. The nose wipe definitely comes in handy as well as the gauntlet. I'm very happy with them and expect I will be for years to come!

Would these be suitable for 8000m peaks in sub-zero temps?

8000m is high, you will need to practice with several gloves before hand to see what works.look here...http://www.backcountry.com/store/ODR0395/Outdoor-Research-Alti-Mitten-Mens.htmlI totally agree. Definitely practice with a bunch of choices. I have personally had these in -25ºf conditions and I was just fine. That's saying a lot because my hands have some serious cold problems.

Might try the Black Diamond Mercury Mitts. They are HUGE and very very warm and comfortable. The removable liner has a trigger finger that would be useful for hunting.
