GoLite Wisp Wind Shirt - Men's
The Men’s Wisp Wind Shirt is the lightest shell you can get from GoLite—that’s saying a lot coming from a company that cuts weight from everything. A combination of recycled and anti-static DWR-coated polyester fabric blocks howling wind a light rain, so you won’t suffer in unexpected weather. At 3.2 ounces, this jacket easily makes the cut for any hiking, backpacking, biking, or trail running trip.
Bottom Line: Never leave it behind.

There are plenty of times where you want coverage but dont need a full on shell. Enter the wind shirt! Wind? PROOF, Water? RESISTANT, and adds significant warmth. It weighs 1/5 of your average shell!!! ONE FIFTH
Properly layered it can keep you comfortable in the breezy 50's down to the frigid 5's.
Additionally I agree with Matt about sweating through but theres a point that full exertion sweats through anything. The 1/4 zip keeps weight down and decreases weak points for wind to get through. If you want a hood go to the ether.
I prefer no hood for added visibility and less around my neck.
Change me.
