GoLite Lair 2 Shelter 2-Person - 2006

The problem with tarp-style shelters is whenever the weather gets bad, you're almost sure to have rain coming in somewhere. By sealing off the foot end of the Lair 2 Shelter, GoLite drastically improved upon the old tarp design and barely added any weight. In fact, since it's made out of ultralight, waterproof SilLite silicone-impregnated nylon, it's lighter than most tarps. The open-front design gives you tons of ventilation. Reflective guy-lines increase visibility, so you aren't tripping over those little cords at night. The Lair 2 holds two people comfortably and is ideal for ultralight backpackers and through-hikers. Combine this shelter with the Layer 2 Nest for full bug protection when the little blood-suckers are swarming.
