GoLite Inferno Down Jacket - Men's - 2008

The folks at GoLite don’t settle for anything but the lightest gear on the market, so they designed the Men’s Inferno Down Jacket with an ultralight micro-polyester shell and soft, fluffy 800-fill goose down. The Inferno's 15D Wisp HP shell has a DWR coating to shed light rain and keep the premium down lofty, while the elastic wrists and hem block drafts. Two fleece-lined pockets hold your chilly hands and an energy bar or two. Not bad for a jacket that packs down to the size of a fist.

Bottom Line: More expensive than a bottle of soda, but it’s smaller, lighter, and you can wear it when you get cold.

fantastic jacket

Very good jacket, perfect light-weight and 800-fill down makes this jacket a real prize. The fleece lined collar & pockets are a comfortable touch. I'm 6'4" and 210lbs, the XL fits me like it was made just for me. The jacket sits fairly high, but not as high as a bomber jacket. Haven't worn it much to know how well the down will stay inside the jacket. Highly recommended.

Very warm

Great jacket, I used this for Grand Traverse (backcountry race), hut trips and cold weather hunting. Pros: Warm; Packs down as small as my Pantagonia Puffball jacket but offers much more warmth; light; pockets in fleece are great; looks very nice for around town. Cons: Zipper sticks sometimes.

How does this compare to the Patagonia Down Sweater?

Its comparable, a bit warmer but does not stow into itself like the patagonia or the Marmot Zues. Honestly, I dont know if it has a hem cinchcord either

light but warm

I ordered this jacket last year and was very impressed with its superb warmth. This jacket will keep you warm but without the bulk. It is one of the most comfortable jackets I have ever worn.
