The GoLite 24 Pack is the backpack of choice of many of the world's most elite short-distance adventure racers. In fact, it has been voted Adventure Sports Magazine's Editor's Choice. With a slew of rugged adventure racing-specific details such as towing loop, a large rear stretch sleeve for helmet or PFD, an air-channel mesh back and padded harness for comfort and quick-dry breathability, gusseted hip belt pockets for energy gels and lip balm, and a 3-liter compatible internal hydration sleeve, this pack has all you need to speed your trip to the podium. With all this convenience, cargo room, and ruggedness, the 24 works well for daily adventures in the rat race, too! –Vendor
Bottom Line: The faster you finish, the faster you can crack a cold one.
This bag is wonderful - I recently used it for a winter day hike of Mt. Washington; it is amazingly light (lighter than my CamelBak mule, even with the same reservoir, but 3 times the size) and can hold an impressive amount of stuff. I did not use even a 1/3rd of the capacity with my softshell, heavy-duty mitts, thermos, food, water, poles, hat, gaiters, and crampons. Has convenient small mesh pockets in the waist belt and loops on the shoulder straps that work well for water tube and compass/altimeter. The one thing I would add to improve this bag is a small, watertight bag on the inside (hanging from a clip on the top perhaps?) to hold electronics, keys, etc. - there are no pockets at all on the inside, save a sleeve for a hydration bladder. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the product and its performance.
After a good bit of research I chose this pack specifically for a 24 hour adventure race that I did a little while ago. It is super light and I love the net in front for the bike helmet. The straps did a good job of cinching everything down so it was comfortable when I ran. The only thing I would change would be add a couple of small accessory pouches inside the pack for carrying small gear, but then again, that would make it heavier. Buy, you will love it!!!
I recently was able to use this pack in a 7-day 250km desert race and found it was able to hold all my food and gear for the race including: Phantom 45F Sleeping Bag, 7 days rations (8 pounds of food) and some minimal clothing items. It's so incredibly light that it's amazing. Would highly recommend this pack and suggest taking it beyond its "24" image. Adding a front race pack accessory and a/or a waist pouch with water bottle holder increases capacity marginally in case you need it.
I've only been using this pack for about 2 weeks, but it has already been overstuffed, rained on, and dragged over concrete, all without a scratch on it. By far a fantastic lightweight backpack. I can't wait to use it for long day hikes.
This pack has been over the continental divide, down the Colorado River, and atop Mt. Hood. It helped me with my clothes along with Tevas for the Colorado, rations for the divide, and a 35mm camera and gear for Mt. Hood. I recommend this to anyone who loves the outdoors as much as me.
