Giro Tuneups w/BT Link

Whether you ski or board, jib or carve, the Giro Tuneups w/ BT Link put crucial tunes and critical communication capability in your helmet using wireless Bluetooth technology. Gone are the days of open jacket zippers, and frozen, fumbling fingers dropping cell phones into the snow. After a simple setup, you can rock out to Rachmaninoff or The Rakes and take important calls from your Bluetooth-enabled phone with the press of a button—no unzipping or pausing required. The Tuneups mount in the earflaps of your compatible Giro helmet, and come with a DJ-style headphone strap so you can use them off the slopes.

Bottom Line: Groove in the heart or merge and acquire with the musi-call miracle of Bluetooth Tuneups.

Giro Tuneups with BT Link

By:

I was told these would work for the Blackberry phones and also thought the item would be entirely wireless. In order to work, the wires still need to be plugged into the phone for music (acts as MP3 player also), and the phone will not ring into the headphone speakers, so it is hard to know when it is actually recieving a call!
Blackberry cannot be programmed to answer automatically or run on speakerphone which is the only way the bluetooth will send rings to headphones. also, need to send back because plugs were too big in diameter for phone jack even though they are the right size supposedly...
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!!!

The little black psuedo triangular piece you see in the main photo above contains the mic. The skull button is to answer calls.

Fragile

By:
December 31, 2009

These headphones are realy good, when they work. They are awesome you can talk on the phone and hit jumps all at the same time! The only downside is they are fragile and not water proof. The first pair I bought broke in shipping and there was no sound from the head phones when I received a call even though my phone said they were synced. I then ordered another pair from this sites amazing customer service. After skiing for several hours in near sub-zero weather the blue tooth thing shifted out of position and when I tried to unclip it the clip broke so I took it off because I didn't want it to get wet if I fell. Besides being fragile and not water proof it's a good buy.

Does Not work with Ipod & Iphone G3 & G3s at same time

By:
December 2, 2009

I have an Ipod and an Iphone G3 and want to use both. After getting this item I could hook up both Ipod and Iphone but I could not heard any voices over the phone connection. I could answer, hang up and redial so I know the phone connected but no voices came through the speakers. Music played fine, just as it is supposed to but no phone. Backcountry said I needed an adpator... Giro said...no adaptor needed. Giro sent two new sets and still the same problem. This unit is not compatible with the Iphone 3g and 3gs series. Too Bad!

Anyone use this yet (preferably with a 3G iPhone)? Curious to hear about the audio quality for the calls and if the mic works well enough for someone on the other end to hear...

Also, can someone confirm that the hardwired music source is automatically muted/paused when a call comes in?

Lastly, will this work on the Giro MX10 Audio helmet?

Thanks!

Sound quality is killer with TuneUp DROPS, they have a 40 mm speaker cone. BT link works just like a bluetooth headset for hands free driving.
When the phone rings the music cuts out, push the skullcandy link to talk your Mom.
Yes works on all 2010 Giro helmets.

NO, the I-phone will not be wireless for both cell and music. If you want to do that you'll need the "WIRELESS" tune ups $200. Not the "BT link" $80. BT link is wireless phone and hard wired music.

You'll need great data service on the slopes to stream music from Pandora. A better option is music loaded on you phone like an MP3 player. If you really want the BOMB package go full WIRELESS Tune Ups $200 bucks but SICK.
