Nothing helps you shrug off the morning fuzz like a hot cup of joe, and thanks to the GSI Java Press, you can get your fix everywhere from a backcountry campsite to the ski area parking lot. This French press mug features a split-ring plunger to keep grounds out of your cup and a insulating EVA sleeve to hold in heat while the magic brews. The lightweight, BPA-free, and shatter-resistant material holds up to years of life outdoors.

Bottom Line: Feed the need with the GSI Java Press.

Not a keeper!

I was not satisfied with this press. The press is designed with two plastic rings that will "expand" to prevent grounds from getting through, but coffee grounds were constantly getting stuck between the rings preventing them from creating a good seal. The plastic around the screen also warped from only 2-3 uses. I didn't like the fact that the pouring mouth didn't have a screen either, because It's kind of a nice backup. The handle seemed flimsy, but it did hold up well, especially since it's a pretty big press. The insulating sleeve is nice and durable though. All in all, I was disappointed that it started to fall apart in only a few uses.

Not going to break this french press.

My wife and I got this for camping and road trips. We drink French press coffee at home, but wanted a press that we wouldn't have to worry about breaking when it's buried under a bunch of gear or stuffed into a pack (i.e. one that's not made of glass). The previous version of this press had a plastic handle and no insulating sleeve. I definitely prefer the new sleeve with the cloth handle as it's much more compact.
