Granite Gear Cloud Cover Pack Fly - 2006

Pack covers are not a packing priority, so they must not weigh any more than strictly necessary. Granite Gear's Cloud Cover understands, right there with you. Made from 30D Cordura nylon ripstop, the Cloud Cover weighs crazy little and functions surprisingly durable. The Cloud Cover fits smaller packs, up to around 4000 cubic inches. *Assorted colors.

Bottom Line: Why carry anything heavier just to cover your pack?

Kept Out Sideways Rain!

By:
March 12, 2008

I bought this cover for a short trip through the Smokies on the AT. The cover worked great and kept rain and snow from all angles off my pack. The material is extremely light and durable - no tears. It is also fits into a tiny stuff sack, so it takes up almost no room - would highly recommend!

Pickpocket deterrent

By:

Love the cover - bought it for my upcoming trip to Europe. I'm carrying an Eagle Creek Cross Roads 22" convertible suitcase, and wanted something for when I'm wearing it as a pack and can't see what people are up to behind me when in the crowds around the rail stations and such. (Bonus: the ripstop is noisy when handled - should be able to hear anyone fooling with it.) It's not a *real* deterrent, as a determined thief will probably just knife the cover, but it will keep those who opportunistically fiddle with zippers out of my pack/case. It fits just fine over the bag with room to spare, is handy and light in it's little built-in storage pocket with hanging clip, AND it'll keep my Cross Roads dry when it's raining -- what else can I ask for?

Light and Strong

By:
September 22, 2006

I recently went on a backpacking trip to Alaska and found that I really did need a good backpack rain cover. Six out of the nine days it rained. This pack cover kept my gear dry when on the move and when storing my pack for the night. The pack cover has a nice elastic cord to adjust proper coverage. It's also light and made from very strong material. We had to muscle through some heavy brush areas and the rain cover came out with no tears or holes. The rain cover packs into itself to about the size of an egg. A very excellent piece of gear.
